Maybe try a Cloupor T6? I think you can get one for $80, maybe less on the fastech website if you can wait 2 weeks. I've had mine for 3 weeks, so far so good -- and the magnetic back panel is absolutely awesome for changing out batteries. You're saving a lot on DIY liquid liquid, don't know what to say. Maybe eat less? vaping is way cheaper than analogs, and if not it's because you're not smoking much analogs to make a difference IMO.

whiteweazel21 - vaping is a lot cheaper than analogs. Prior to vaping I was a DIY roller though, so the cost savings aren't much and after these device purchases I will need some time to pay things off. I'm going to sell my cigarette rolling machine on ebay though and get a little cash back it's a nice model.

What I settled on was the vapor shark and I forked over the last of my cash for a iStick 20 watt for a backup device. I ordered the iStick from a webstore in my state so it should be here in a few days. Were-as the vapor shark as a 10 day processing time then shipment, might as well of ordered from china to be honest. Edit - They shipped it today, so more like a 2 day processing time. I appreciate everyones insight on this and the comradery. Excited to see ya'll on the other parts of the board.

Was the VS the 40w or the previous version? Contrats anyhow, great device. On the other hand, you should have gotten the iStick 30w, not the 20w. The 30w I believe uses rms with pwm under to downregulate and a DC signal at higher power...

sprki - It's the 40w vapor shark.

I'll have to check pbsardos youtube video about the technical aspects of how it functions. RMS + PWM is a nice combination. I wonder what the 20W uses for power regulation? The main reason why I purchased it was because I got it /w shipping for 33$ from vapormakers (cool US based company with some pretty good deals that helps redditers out a bit). That's nearly 10$ lower than the janky 20W hana clones, with a much faster shipping time for in the US. The 10W mini is slightly cheaper as well. I would have got the 10W mini, but I really like vaping at 11W (silly I know), and twice the battery life was worth the extra 2-3 dollars. I wish they had a floating or adjustable pin, but for a back up it'll be perfect. For bad weather/hiking I'd rather use a 30$ device over a 190$, so having a back up device isn't only for emergencies I am realizing.

The iStick 20w uses PWM also, but it's tuned to Mean instead of RMS. No DC eithr. It's a great device, but you have to actively remind yourself that it will be firing around a volt higher than expected at the lower and mid wattage settings. I mention the 30w because it's pretty much the same price as the 20w. When I was shopping around I found it as low as 34.99.

Regardless, it's a great device and you'll be happy with it.

Thanks for letting me know sprki. Why on earth would someone design a mod to modulate power via PWM mean? That's just silly, I'm sure it still works fine, but thank you for the heads up on the extra volt. If the Istick mini worked similarly I could of gotten away with that if I built proper coils.

VaporMaker shipped the following day, so I will probably be using them again. Hopefully my istick "battery" will be here in the next few days!

No prob! Lot's of people complain about burnt coils and then figure out it's overpowered and believe it's damaged or something when the reality is just tuned to 2010 :p

You'll love it though. It's a nifty box for out and about.

Got the istick 20w today. Back off analogs and having a great vape day! This is a nice little device. I don't notice anything harsh about the vapor compared to the other regulated device I tried. My only complaint was the 510 pin was shorting with my RDA. So I put a little o-ring inbetween the 510 and the atomizer. It works great now. Having a back up is a great idea, and this thing is perfect for that, even if it costs me a 5 cent o-ring after a month of use :D.

Hah, my istick 20w is broken. Kinda feel like I got robbed. The thing just says "Atomizer short" even with no atomizer attached. Guess it's from the 510 pin? Another mod broken due to having a nonadjustable 510 pin...

Return it and go for the 30w. It has a apring loaded 510. My only complaint about it is that the button on my 20w feels sturdier, but it hasn't failed me at all.
