As a responsible college student, I tried to do the right thing and went down to the "security" office which is ran by real cops and in-training cops. None was in there to ask about the vape policy.. so I left a message and spent the rest of my day in stealth. When the phone call came, it was from the head officer saying "Absolutely not." to the answer of "Can PV be used in common areas and halls."

So it looks like I'm out with the smokers if I want to do it legitly... so I did... and now my teacher (who is very anti smoking) doesn't believe me that I quit. *lesigh* --- A health class where quitting is 25% of my grade (for the project of "self change behavioral progress project")

100% PG juice and a little practice, and you won't exhale a thing. Get a box mod, and the idiots (yes, 90% of the "professors" I've met are not that bright) won't even know what you're doing. Look up the "fake soda straw" technique.

I can't believe that your "professor" is GRADING YOU based on quitting. What a ..... <--rhymes with witch, and I'm sure the filter took it out [edit: no, it didn't. amazing]... but believe me, I typed it and I meant it. If you were my kid, I'd be raising hell with every administrator on campus. A 'class' is supposed to be for learning, not being forced to conform.

/rant. sorry....
Anyway, stealthing is easy, fun, and done right it's almost impossible to get caught at it. I'm actually looking for an overly large pen that I can make into a 10440-based mod for just such a purpose.

If you're dead set on following the rules, you're kind of outta luck, it seems. Then again, I've never known college students to follow all the rules... I never did, lol! Sounds like you may want to move to a Free State, like here ;)

LOL hells no I wont stop. I've heard of (but not found) others on campus... But the project is anything we want to improve. Some picked "drink more water" others picked "quit caffeine", others did "lose weight" - ya get the picture. Mine is "quit smoking". By vaping, I have, technically. But the teacher is keen on who has that project and noticed I smelled :( the idea of the project is to "show progress" not necessarily complete it during the semester... but by saying "i quit" in my last project update ... then smelling like I dont, well, yeah... looks bad.

I adore your comment about parents raising hell, but I've not been a "kid" for about 10 years now. Just unemployed and needing an associates to do anything around here.

I'm actually planning to get one of those multi-ink fat pens to slip my 808 in and still have it function. The best I can figure is that I need to remove three of the four colors (keep black) and make a hole for the manual's button. Somehow, if i can cut the ink selecting section OR prop up the battery on some stuffing, I can get the drip to the top to draw breath from... Dunno, my first camo-mod and still thinking it through.

Maybe you could vape something that smells more innocent, at least until you finish the class. Any of the candy or bakery flavors (you'll smell like you have a sweet tooth), or if you don't want sweet then perhaps an unsweetened vanilla.

-giggles- I did. My only flavors have been fruity (a F4L sampler). It's standing with the smokers that makes the smell stick to my clothes. BTW, Loving the sour apple cobbler. Disliking the "PG" taste... going to try the VG next order.

Does the "project" come with a paper? I suggest you write why it is you feel you have quit and how an e cig helped you to do just that.... Enough research info posted here to inform the professor and get you that 25% ;)

Not a bad idea, that...

Except that most academic types are nothing more than failed petty tyrants. They absolutely HATE anyone questioning their authority or what is being "taught", and God help you if you actually prove them wrong. Proceed with caution.

As far as the smell goes, switch to a non-tobacco flavor & don't stand near smokers.

Ah, well, don't do that then! :p You could do what I (and many like me) do when I'm somewhere where vaping isn't allowed... go to the bathroom and stealth vape in a stall! Or take a stroll down the street.

I'd love to find the other vapers and see about creating a few "vape only" spots. Heh, take that smokers!

Don't go out with the smokers. Or at least stand well upwind of them.

Do as someone else suggested, write up a paper on vaping, and cite all kinds of references. Make the prof. work a little to find all the citations. If she tries to tell you, "You didn't quit smoking", you can argue that you did, you just didn't quit nicotine. Nor did you say you would.

You said you would stop inhaling this:
smoke
–noun
1. the visible vapor and gases given off by a burning or smoldering substance, especially the gray, brown, or blackish mixture of gases and suspended carbon particles resulting from the combustion of wood, peat, coal, or other organic matter.

I'm a college student too. Being in a graduate program we have very small classes and I sit in the front row, but I'll sneak a vape now and then. Our classes are 3 to 4 hours long so what am I supposed to do? If you do it right there's no vapor and it looks like you've just got the nasty habit of chewing on your pen. I also spend a lot of time at the library and vape constantly. No one has ever caught me, or if they did they didn't say anything about it.

Well then, tell the school they have to ban hot coffee and food or anything that releases steam. Inform the non-smoking yuppie crowd on all the benefits from ecology to health and get them to sign petitions. Tell us who to write to at the school and we will flood their office with mail. LOL Don't take it lying down. Steam can't be banned. That's ridiculous.

Yeah I don't understand how she can track any of that anyways. If she going to weigh the people that wanted to lose weight? Make the caffeine junkies take urine tests?

If you get a bad mark because she "doesn't believe you" then just take it up with the Dean.

Dean type people have mastered the 'not getting involved' card!

P.S./ they are politicians with a much bigger paycheck!

You might ask the professor what "her" definition of quitting smoking is. I got very frustrated yesterday when trying to find info about nicotine and it's effects on the cardiovascular system. The overwhelming majority of links (American Heart ...; American Cancer ....) lumped their reports of nicotine with smoking. Just a thought :)

Looks like you and I had the same college experiences. My college days lasted less than 72 hours (that's gotta' be some kind of record.) Went back to school in my early thirties, while working at the PD. And apparently the Prof had a hard on for PO's, well I won the argument. But I probably shouldn't have done it in front of the class. And at 110 decibel's, and within bad breath range (live and learn.) I was asked not to return, but I did get all of my money back ... so there is that at least.
