Of course, if you install the Google toolbar you also get red squiggles. In any browser.

Just what everybody needs, yet another toolbar. Actually there is a free (for personal use) spell checker for IE that's pretty light-weight.

ieSpell - Spell Checker add-on for Internet Explorer

I run into people weekly that have added toolbars because they didn't uncheck the little box when installing an update for some other third part app helper or another. They have no idea what to do with it or how it got there, but dumping them is a good way to speed up your browser and potentially eliminate some privacy issues.

Just an FYI

I think I'd be hard pressed to call Google's toolbar "evil". And given they were one of the first - it's hard to consider them "YATb". To each their own. I actually know a couple whack-jobs that have bought into believing that "bing" is an acceptable search engine... And having interviewed at both, and hung around with both, I think it'd be safer to say that IE causes instability in Google's code. ;)

On topic: Once the E-mail goes out..it's gone!

Actually... (if anyone's curious) in email blasts like this, the banner is a graphic file which is housed on a server somewhere and referenced in the HTML, and downloaded to the email client only when you open it (and in some clients, when you click the "download pictures" link)... So yeah - if you make a typo in the actual TEXT of an email blast (like text that you could highlight with your cursor), its too late - everyone will see the goof. If its a typo within a static graphic, like the banner, you can change it, and re-upload your image to that server, and then anyone who opens it from that point on won't see your goof

:D

I'm an ecommerce site mgr / designer guy, and I send out email blasts to about 20k people twice a month... have been known to have to re-upload an image or two in my time for dumb goofs I didn't notice. heheh

(although misspelling "and" with "anc" is MUCH lower impact than misplacing a decimal point or leaving off a digit in the price of a cluster of servers for sale - ack!!!! :D )

The Banner for the sale says "24% all juice anc carts"... anc

Not being picky, well maybe I am. I am just mentioning to avoid V4L not looking so great

Ohhhhh myyyyy gosh...Such a critical error on their part. Think of all the people who missed the sale because of this misspelling! hahahahaha!....not me and who really cares. Not trying to be mean....just sarcastic.

I was too busy loading my V4L cart with goodies to notice any spelling. I tend to look for one thing on the banner or emails.............what percentage I am saving!

mocking, contemptuous, or ironic language intended to convey scorn or insult

Yes it is fairly clear that words, their meaning and spelling mean very little to you. I am glad the spelling error did not cause you to miss the sale. I can see how that would have been horribly tragic.

My apologies for sounding callous. Making you feel dejected was certainly not my intention. Please know that my future tomfoolery will be thoroughly reviewed before it is introduced into the forum. I was merely trying to convey that the proper sale information was significant in comparison to the minuscule spelling error.
