I've looked around but can't find any info on creating a signature/banner that's automatically added to my posts. Searched through settings etc. Any suggestions?

It's in settings... Click on settings at the top right of the page, scroll down to below 'My Messages' and 'My Subscriptions' (In the columns on the left side of the page) and there will be a column that says 'My Settings.' 'Edit Signature' is the fifth item below 'My Settings.'

You post count has to be above 15 before the option to add a signature appears in your Profile settings.

Thank you so much for mentioning post count! I haven't been able to figure this out either, and was beginning to doubt my geek skills. Scary! LOL
Is there a way to avoid signatures? Just do not see them? Do we have such setting?
I find signatures annoying, they takes space on my monitor and make scrolling less effective.
I find signatures more appropriate for middle schoolers, not for adults.
P.S. I promise do not use signature.

I like to see every ones smoke free banners - gives me confidence that others have been through this and are still hanging in there 
I have achieved the minimum post count and I do not have the signature option... I really want to put the
in my sig too!

I don't know about this forum, but most forums do indeed have an option to disable signatures and other features. try going through the user control panel and see if you can find it?
Once you hit 15 posts, you have to wait until 25 minutes after the hour for the server to update. Once that happens you should see the option as discussed above.
you have to wait for the server to update. I've heard it happens at 25 past the hour. I checked mine at 35 and 45 past when I hit fifteen posts but it didn't flip. So you may have to just wait an hour or two. I wound up not checking again until later that day and it was enabled.
