I agreed with Scarborough up until the point he says the state needs to take the children away from their parents. It's just too Banzhaf-esque for my taste.

BigJimW, you're a true American.

He is absolutely right, and I'm pretty sure he was just using emphasis

I hate stupid parents, they put innocent children in danger... poor kids will probably pass their misinformed bad habits to their children

Apparently McDonald's still hasn't made a warning label to say that a 1/4 pounder, fries, and super-sized soft drink with an apple pie may be an excessive amount of food for a 10 year old to have in one meal. And that's just lunch!
BJW, Brainshalf does this with a straight face. Unbelievable. Thanks.

Here's some history of his career, starting with is efforts to use the fairness doctrine to force TV stations to air anti smoking information, because they accepted a lot of cig ads.

The Fairy Tale of John Banzhaf and the Fairness Doctrine

Ironic that he got his first talon in his prey with the fairness doctrine, and went on to vitually eliminate cigarette ads, while securing funding from the industry he was pecking away at, isn't it?

Now the fairness doctrine is gone, and you can't even show people smoking on TV. The tobacco companies have a pact with the FDA that they can't ban smoking, but the FDA has it's approved cessession products, ASH has it's big pharma funding for the approved products with the full blessing of the FDA, smokers are confined to ever shrinking out of the way places and taxed to a point where they are running out of options. Then when a safer alternative is possible, they want to make criminals out of those with the audacity to want to use it. There has to be a collusion case here somewhere!!! Grrrrrr!
