Most doctors don't know squat about vaping, and I'm a doctor. If you are not taking nicotine into your system and you've cleared the nicotine from previous use out, then you will not test positive. To be sure, the other advice on this thread is helpful. Get your own test and be sure that your 0% is truly nicotine free.

Sorry, that was a really vague question, wasn't it? I haven't had nicotine in almost 3 months, so the 0% vapes help, i've just been scared to do the blood test, so I have been putting it off. Im in St louis, I can take the blood test whenever really.

I'm another who can't see how nicotine-free vaping would result in a nicotine-positive blood test, but what do I know? My suggestion is to take the test now. That way, on the off chance it comes up positive, you have enough time to sort out the problem and get two negative tests before the procedure is scheduled.

I'm almost afraid to touch this, but to me that doctor sounds like a dumbass. Vaping zero nic would cause zero nic in your bloodstream, but I agree with those who say there could be residual from any previous nicotine use. I don't know how long it takes to clear out.

Best wishes for a successful procedure and recovery.

...told me he still smokes because his doctor told him vaping was worse than smoking.

That is just too sad, too deplorable, pathetic, ignorant, ridiculous, but IMO, typical of the medical field in the US, which is a for-profit industry, with almost nothing to do with healing and wellness. When I hear something like this it makes my blood boil.

With respect for Territoo and good people like her, I will say there are notable exceptions to the model of medical education by the pharmaceutical industry.
