I have a question about mods with USB chargers built into them. If I have one with a 3.7 volt battery inside then obviously it vapes at or around 3.7v. But when I have it plugged in using it as a passthrough, is it vaping at 3.7v or is it vaping at the same 5v that the USB port it outputting?

Good question and wish I too knew ... 100%.

I do know that once my Bartley charging light (red) goes off I'm getting better than 3.7v and more likely around 4.0-4.2v. But with usb in and button down, I'd have to say you're still running off the batt given the bit I know of the charging circuit that's used.

ADDITION: I did ask this same question of Janty for my JStick and they indicated it was always running off the batt - ubs plugged in or not.

Thanks for the input. I was pretty sure that it was still vaping at 3.7v when plugged in because the vapor isn't really any warmer and I am still getting the same flavor and vapor amount. It doesn't matter to me either way. I purchased the bartleby expecting 3.7v and that's what I got and I am perfectly happy with it.

Yes, I have a Bartleby too, and really like it. I also have the 5v box mod that cybervex makes too. Awesome vape!

you are vaping at 4.2 volts actually. e-cig battery at full charge runs at 4.2 volts. so if your plugged in its constantly trying to achieve that number.

3.85V is about the most you are going to see out of a Bart into a typical atty, with a healthy 14500 and the charging circuit running background. Which is still MUCH better than you will see out of the typical non-mod PV battery.
