I checked this out twice before posting this.

After a few weeks of puffing, both of my batteries go dead after only 1 to 2 hours of use. Both at the same time???? Somethings fishy here.

I started thinking, (which is not natural for me.) but anyway, I figured that if the atomizer is building up with anything that is remotely conductive, it will increase the resistance of the coil, and thus cause more power draw.

I soaked my atomizer in boiling lemon juice for awhile, rinsed it, dried it, and fired it up. Took a while to get my steam up again, but batteries are again lasting all day.

I did this twice when the battery life decreased, and both times it worked, so maybe you'll want to try a clean or new atomizer before you throw out those old batteries.

cheers

I've been dealing with the same thing. My batteries are lasting for 1-3 hours now instead of all day. I have the NJOY supermini and the atomizer has been PERFECT since I started using it back in Febuary. The self cleaning system seems quite effective and so I am worried about messing with lemon juice or pepsi or whatever to clean it.
Is it fairly safe to clean them, or can I screw it up somehow and ruin the thing? I only have one atomizer and I think I would snap if I had to go back to <GASP> Analogs for even a few days!

Hiya MrHoyle,

Personally I try to be very conservative about trying these things unless I'm desperate or have back ups; though I don't have any problems with blowing out the extra gunk. In your current situation I would lean toward dealing with the shorter battery life until I had an additional atomizer or more.

I admit that I have fallen back on analogs to soothe the savage cravings when stuck, but GEEZE they taste nasty.

I recommend you get some spare atomizers ASAP. They die without warning. If it's working for you, I wouldn't mess with it until replacements arrive. And lately, replacements are taking a week or two.

For those who are a little nervous about doing any liquid type cleaning (and some atomizers, specifically the 4081 and relative types) work best without liquid cleaning. Use the "dry cleaning" approach.

Take your mouth piece off of your atomizer, put the LED end in your mouth and give short, quick pushes of air. This will activate the necessary parts and you should produce some crackly vapor.

I agree with the OP that maintenance will fix a host of issues and an atomizer that is dirty will drain your batteries. I have been able to get 4-9 months from my atomizers using only this method. Worth a try!
