CR2 batteries wear out fast; say, within three months of constant use. I also suspect the stated mAh rating is probably on the high side. I recently re-ordered a larger quantity and another charger so I can always have fresh cells when I need them.

I had a CR2 that was particularly weak and threw it out last month. On my multimeter, it would read nearly one volt lower than the other cell it was paired with when they were ready to be charged. I have another CR2 that is FTD (fixin' to die), and is going to be pitched in a few days.

under no load conditions the voltage reading dosnt mean that much...

some can read 4 volts under no load but when the atomizer load is applied the voltage drops right off.. these can be considered dud batteries..

some can read say 3.5 volts under no load but still maintain the voltage under load.. these can be considered good but not fully charged batteries..

its not wise to take them down much below 3 volts it can damage them..

in use they start of at 4.2 volts.. a decent sized cell will maintain this voltage under atomizer load... a dud one will not..

we test all our batteries under a 3 amp load if they dont hold their voltage for at least a few seconds they go in the bin..

the ones we now ship are very good few have to go in the bin.. ones we have had in the past are not so good more had to go in the bin..

basically a no load voltage test dosnt pick up the duds...

we think ours are good given heavy use for at least three months use.. bigger 18650 cells should be good for longer.. we always quote worse case life times.. they are cheap keep some known to be good new ones around.. if you think a battery is a bit suspect chuck it..

now for the bad news.. a lithium cell that reads only 2 volts under no load should be considered dead and damaged.. it should go in the bin...its faulty..
