My TR-001 makes a real high-pitched whine when done charging. Like barely in the audible range for a semi-old guy. Probably drives my dog nuts. ;)

That said, you posted that the batteries are not getting hot. Good. But you should have other sets of batteries anyway. If it's at all different (particularly with a different make of battery) between the sets of batteries or with different model batteries (like 18650 or 14500)....I'd toss the batteries and get new ones.

Always buy good quality batteries. Always use either protected batteries or IMR. :)

I have heard noises from my charger before I have a trustfire TR-006 And when I have I remove the battery and reseat them sometimes if there not seated in well enough I can get a noise. Red light will be on like its charging but there is a faint high pitch noise not to mention I keep it on my desk to keep a eye on it. I'm sure you have done this but I would make sure your battery is making good contact with the charger

If you can hear everythign like I can ..
when the house is quiet I hear my AA/AAA battery chargers while they are on.. I can even tell when they are done based on the different noise it's making. (2 difrerent brand charger both have been working find for several years), this is if I'm in the room they are the loudest

When the office is quiet.. I can hear my Blackberry USB charger if something's plugged into it and drawing power from it. sit about 3 ft away from charger

When my garage is quiet, I can hear my Tool battery chagers doing their work as well.

If you are concerned always get it checked out.. but as I stated above.. all of my chargers have a high pitched whine/hiss that at least I can hear.
