I want to test my batteries. I have a bunch of batteries and they don't seem to be equal in power even though they are the same brand and everything. Is there a way to do this?

Besides testing for voltage with a multimeter, you would need more sophisticated (expensive) tools to be able to do more tests.

Are your batteries all the same size?
Are you using them on the same mod?
Have you checked their voltage before putting it in your mod to vape?

I would say that they are not all fully charged for some reason and that is why you get different results. There is nothing else as far as I can see that would explain it.

Yes they are the same size and the same mod. Yes I have checked the voltage. I just hoped there was another way to check them or maybe someone knew of a cheap analyzer. You guys here are so smart. Thank you for your reply my friend.

There are analyzers on the market. However they are used for cell phone and two way radio batteries. Its easy to rig a battery to a analyzer but the cost is well over $400.00 for a good one. I condition and analyze my batteries from my radio rental fleet on a weekly basis.

You can always look at the discharge rate after charging. But that is not as effective as analyzing the battery.

Ok.....if the batteries are protected this will give you a good indication of their condition.

1. Charge them all to full just before connecting.
2. Connect the battery to a 2 cell or 3 cell flashlight bulb.
3. Take note of the brightness and time how long it takes them to die.
Note: If these aren't protected Li Ion batteries you WILL ruin them.
NiCd and NiMh are safe to do this with also.
4. Bad batteries or ones starting to fail will dim or go out faster than good ones.

It's not the greatest quick test, time wise, but it does simulate the atty coil load nicely if compared to a new battery. I have a Rat Shack meter that has a digital display that will measure up to 10amps. You could connect it in line and get an actual value of current draw as you time it and watch it fall off. Record the values and time and you can get a good avgerage and sort the duds out or soon to be ones.

Hope that helps,

you can get very goot analyzers for around 100$
or the cheapest would be to buy a RC battery charger that does balancing/refreshing and such. they can tell you the status of the batt
they are generally less than 100$
and you can charge generally 6 lions at a time
so you get the best of both worlds, an other important feature
is that these chargers measure the temp of the batt as well, so they dont let them over heat, with diminishes batt life
the ammount of mAh they can take

While all that is interesting information, for $100, you can buy enough batteries to keep your mod running for about 4-5 years, even tossing out some "bad" ones now and then.

Unless you want to have all that information for research purposes.

Most of the batteries I am using are unprotected. It is for safety reasons.
