Help with battery

Is there a way to test a mod to see if it works that takes a 14500 battery if I don't have that size battery? I just want to see if the mod works.

If it's a box or wooden mod where you can access both contacts you could tape a small piece of wire to each end of a battery and then to the contacts as a test. It would be riskier with a tube mod but if you surrounded the positive wire with an insulator like the rubber grip of a pen, you could then push the wire to the positive contact inside the tube and tape the negative wire to the tube body. Careful with this so you don't create a short!
