I have ordered a Vamo V5 from fasttech and I was looking on Amazon for a pair of 18650 Panasonic batteries. The pictures that they show doesn't look like the positive post has a raised "button" on it. Will this battery work in the Vamo? Does a Vamo need "protected batteries"?

I will also need a charger. Any recommendations for a charger that will charge the Panasonic 18650 and 14500 batteries?

Thanks for any help.

Yes stacking does increase the total voltage to 7.4. But keep in mind this is a regulated device so it will put out whatever you set it for. I personally don't and won't stack batteries though because there is an added danger factor when using them. It is safer with a single battery.

I agree. I'm going to stick with one 18650. From all I have read on the subject it appears that the "flat top battery" will work fine so I think my battery of choice will be the Panasonic NCR18650B Super Max 3.7V 3400mAh and the NiteCore Sysmax Intellicharge i4 V.2 Li-ion/NiMH Battery Charger.
