Hi all,
I have a question regarding my batteries. I use volt batteries which are kr808 type batteries from Smokeless Image. I only have their USB charger and was wondering if these wall chargers I've had with previous cell phones would be safe to use.

My USB specs are:
Input - 5V DC .500mA
Output - 5V DC 150mA

Motorola wall charger with USB port specs:
Input - 100-240V ~ 50/60 HZ
0.2A
Output - 5.1V ~ 850mA

HTC wall charger with USB port specs:
Input - 100-240V ~ 200mA
50/60 HZ
Output - 5V - 1A

I have posted exactly what is on all 3 of these accessories. Are either of these 2 chargers compatible with the USB charger from smokeless image? Thanks for any help at all.

Unfortunately I did not not get the deluxe kit with all the trimmings because I have tried other ecigs in the past and they were all a waste of money until I found the Smokeless Image ecig and i have not looked back. I bought the minimum kit for like 30 bucks and it came with a usb charger that you plug directly into your usb port of your pc. I do use a portable usb charger when im at work for my batteries and never gave it a second thought to just use it while not checking the specs and it is awesome. works great, never have a dead battery on the road. So instead of ordering the wall charger for 8 bucks i wanted to see if my other wall chargers were compatible. i am just a little nervous to just plug it in the wall just in case it would fry my usb charger. not worried if i fried the wall charger or the battery but if i blew out the usb then i would have nothing and it would be days before i got another.

There is a difference between a usb charger (male usb to battery connector), and a usb power supply (ac plug to usb female socket).

For the power supply it is absolutely fine to have a 1a, or even higher, rating. Basically you want the power supply output to be greater than or equal to the usb charger input, so the ps can supply enough current.

The usb charger is a different thing. In that case you want the output current (the 4.2v output current) less than or equal to the mah of the battery.

You can, for instance, use an 80 or 150 mah charger on a 650 mah battery, but you cannot use a 500 ma output charger on a standard 180 mah 510 battery.

(your pc usb port actually has to be able to output at least 500 ma, per the usb specification, and many can output a lot more)

I haven't tried ALL models of 510 e-cigs, but the output of a charger should limit the maximum voltage to 4.2 volts.
I have some disposable 510 e-cigs that use a USB to 510 "charger" that has no electronics in it at all. THe disposable e-cig contained all the "smarts" to limit charge voltage.

If the charger/adapter you have is really putting out 5 volts to the e-cig then it is probably like those.

Any USB source could be used to power that device. But I would not use another 5 volt charger to power your e-cig. Or use the charger you have on

ANY OTHER 510 E-CIG.

The 420ma USB to 510 charger (top plug of AC to USB supply) has circuitry to stop the charge at about 4.22 volts.
The one in the bottom in the bottom plug is a USB to 510 charger for disposables. There is nothing in it but connectors and two wires. It puts out 5 volts.

The two are NOT compatible

Either the motorola or the htc usb power supply should be fine.

Personally I would use the htc, cleaner output voltage spec, matches the nominal usb 5v better, but either is okay.

I don't think he is talking about wall warts here but actual chargers. If the latter is the case then neither is suitable IMO. OTOH if they are proper wall warts as you stated earlier with a female to accept his USB charger then yes the HTC for the win
