Some will say yes, some will say no.
Since you need to have more than one battery (if you're smart.. and following the Backup for a Backup for a Backup plan..) having an external charger is a great idea.
Internal chargers can vary greatly, a Nitecore or Xtar charger should provide reliability.

I've never heard or read "I prefer my nitecore charger over my Xtar or my Luc".

Is this a first?

Lets just say, I sleep very well while charging with my xtar vp2, I couldn't imagine
relying on anything else, in the car or traveling ..............................

Never said I preferred Nitecore over Xtar or Luc. Merely stated that I was a nitecore fan. Never had one let me down but like I said, that's my preference.
was asking because the word "prefer" suggests somewhat that there was some experience and a choice based on that experience.

personally, i have experienced 5 of the 6 most recommended chargers, and likely the best 3 on the market.

i own the;
nitecore i2 (D2 without digital readout)
nitecore i4 (D4 without digital readout)
Luc 4 bay
xtar vp4
xtar vp2
another xtar vp2

i purchased the nitecores on overwhelming recommendations here before i did my homework.

after owning the luc and checking out the D4 when it was being introduced (prior to hitting the market) at DC vapefest, i would never buy another nitecore charger.

though, after my xtar chargers, i'd never buy another luc again, either. so there's that.

checking out thorough testing and reviews as well as checking out failure reports... they're a real eye opener.

my nitecores are dedicated AA and AAA NiMH chargers now for the most part.

not to mention, the nitecores don't have the programmability, flexibility, accuracy, safety features built in and the reliability of the other chargers listed.

bottom line... i don't trust them next to my sleeping wife and the next room over my my sleeping kids while i'm out of town.

my xtars? not a thought in my mind.
