Hello all, I'm new to vaping and so far am a real fan.

I purchased an inexpensive Kamry KTS mechanical telescoping vapor rig and it's working better than the pos VaporX XLT one I previously had.

My question is a about the battery, since my old vapor rig had an easy plug and go usb charger this new 18650 battery thing is new to me.

I've been vaping for over 24 hours on the original or factory charge. I'm going fishing tonight and wanted to charge the battery to make sure it doesn't die on me during my outing.

I'm sure the factory charger is sub par being that it is an inexpensive unit. Anyway, I've placed the battery into the charger and the charge indicator light was immediately green, and per the manual that would mean it's fully charged. I'm wondering if I'm either doing something wrong, or do these batteries really last that long?

I do have the positive and negative sides of the battery in the correct side of the charger lol.

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Steven

The best way to find out is to test the battery using a multimeter. There is several possible problems here. he battery could be bad and needs replacing, the charger may not be charging and needs replacing, or the led is just gone wonky and you wont be able to tell if the batery is fully charged without checking with a multimeter anyways. check the battery and if it is lower then 3.7 and the light is green there is something wrong, but if it is closer to 4.1 then it is actually fully charged.

No these batteries don't last that long. Something must be wrong with either the battery or the charger. Does the light stay green or flash green?
When I put my batteries in my charger, they stay green for a good 2 seconds then go to red.

It is just green. Never changed to red. I would think after using it for at least 200-300 puffs it would have drained the battery some at least.

This is obviously the first time I've tried to charge the battery lol, but I don't think anything is wrong with the brand new battery that was all working just fine after 200-300 puffs. I didn't put it on the charger because it was dead, I put it on the charger because I want it to last through my fishing trip tonight.

Also, caution:

Over discharging a battery is bad. Can render it useless. Or cause problems when you do get a working charger. Get a decent one. Protected batteries guard against that. However, the IMRs and such have no smarts (and neither do mech mods). So if you're using an unprotected battery in a mech over-discharge is possible and bad.

Sounds to me that it could be an indication that the battery is not making contact with the terminals on the charger. On my cheaper chargers the light is always green without a battery being connected, sometimes you have to twist/rock a battery to be sure it seats properly and makes contact. Also, make sure the contacts on the charger are clean.

I agree. Check to see if the battery is making contact.
Also you did not mention if the battery was flat top. If so, it may not make a good contact or not at all. If that is the case, You can try small piece of metal at the top of the battery and see if it would.

Just careful.

Cheers
