Greetings all! Fairly new to vaping(about 45 days) and I have some confusion about batteries. Yes, I've searched forums and found some information, but want a more direct answer rather than scattered replies.

I have a 2 piece unit form SmokeTip. As I understand, this is a KR808D-1. Correct?
I also have a 2 piece unit from E-Cig that they call an E9. This is a KR808D-2. Correct?
Are there any differences between these two batteries other than the threads? I was rather bothered when I got the E9 and found that they were not threaded the same as the SmokeTip.

Also, for what it's worth, I like the SmokeTip better than the E9. The E9 is more difficult to get a good draw and cuts off too fast as the draw is slowed.

Thanks for your help

Can't help you with those two brands although E9 is not considered a good personal vaporizier (PV). About 95% of us on ECF use manual batteries not auto batteries like you have. With manuals there is no cut off, you get warmer vapor and you control the vapor by pressing the button. Plus auto batteries will get liquid in them and die where as manuals are sealed from the atomizer.

You might want to consider a good beginner PV such as the Riva or eGo 510. You will be pleasantly surprised at the difference in quality and battery life (about 5 hours). Liberty Flights has them for around $35.

The smoketips should be a standard kr808d-1 which you can use cartos from V4L, but as far as the E9 i dont know too much about it but i heard its hard to find carto for it from a US supplier. i can be wrong. i do agree with wv2win the ego or riva are great units for the price, and you wont have any trouble finding different suppliers for stuff

Thanks for the super fast replies. I have found in my research that the KR8 types are generally good to get started with, but there are better models out there. I do actually have an eGo-T on order that should be showing up the middle of this week. After watching numerous YouTube vids by various member of this forum, I can't hardly wait use it.

If you must have 808d1 stuff, the volt is the same,I can use bloog or volt carto's with the smoketip battery
The draw is tighter on the smoketip than the volt tho,the volt batteries are autos,so no dripping, you might fry a battery
smokeless image sells the volt,I liked my smoketip batteries until I tried the volt, bloog has the same stuff, but it costs more

While I have only used KR8 batteries (manuals) they too have a cutoff ranging from 5-20 seconds depending on the battery. As for E-9 verses KR808 I am not sure. I thought I had read a post in the new user forum a couple of weeks ago that said that E9 and KR808-d2 were the same thing.

Is your smoketip male, or female threaded?

The battery for either is male, but the E9 is ever so slightly smaller which keeps me from being able to swap them around.

Yeah that sounds like a KR8 to me. I have an E9 (greensmoke, big newbie mistake) and KR808-d1's (which are great for short term vaping and easy carry). There may be an adapter for KR8 to E9, but I just shelved the E9. After 2 battery replacements and pretty poor customer service, I gave up on it. I do credit them for getting me on the right track, but still was pretty disapointed. I also am now using an iGo sold by nHaler. Its a fat bat option for KR8 without an adapter. Only had it a couple of days but it's vaping like a champ. One battery lasts me almost the whole day and I chain vape like a newborn with a pacifier :) It has some very nice cartomizers also. It's not without it's faults though. The Cartos need to be filled carefully the first time to be sure they are fully saturated and I have read some are just hit and miss. One worked great for a day but then the flavor went to burnt. The other has been going great since thursday.

Good luck! Have fun. Vape Hard
