I bought a joy eGo on the recommendation of a friend. Everything was working out the first two weeks. Yesterday the battery died. I know the battery died because the same atty works on the 510 my friend gave me.

Is this a common problem? I hear that not only is a ecig better for your health (less mutagenic) but also saves you money. How can it save me money if I constantly have to buy new batteries, especially if they might only last two weeks?

Any input would be great

My 7 month old batteries still work great so maybe you got a dud! Most places offer warranties so contact your vendor and see if they'll replace it. I got my stuff from Liberty Flights and they warranty the batts + attys for 2 months. You didn't use the LR attys on it, did you? They are harder on the Ego/Riva batteries.

Another thought is sometimes ppl talk about the center post in the battery being pushed down too far by screwing the attys on too tightly. They say to raise it up so that it can make contact with the battery charger and the attys. I'm not sure how to do it though so maybe someone will chime in! I think it involves paper clips and other nefarious objects.

The battery well the atty screws into can get cruddy too so swab it out w/a q-tip dipped in alcohol and swap it with dry ones till it's dry. Sometimes it's so dirty that it won't charge. That happened to me;)

First - make sure there is no liquid caught between the central round post of the battery and the threaded edge - run a pointed bit of tissue around in that circular valley. Liquid in there will make the battery short and not work.

If you screw a battery into a charger too hard it can depress the center post of the end of the battery. If you think that is the problem - see if you have anything that could carefully lift that round central post a bit. A tweezers or very skinny needle nose pliers might work. Just gently lift it a bit.

And I recommend you buy future batteries from Liberty-Flights.com - they have a bit of a warranty on batteries. If you cannot get it working then try to get your vendor to exchange it.

yea the battery lights up, so actually probably not the battery, but the connection between the atty and the battery...

On the bottom of the atomizer, take a small precision screwdriver or something similar, and pry up on the post a little bit then try it again. It sounds as if it a connection problem.
