Battery/equip suggestions needed

Hi all! Still a bit of a novice, but here's where I'm at. I've been using an ego-C 1000mAh battery with either 1.8 or 2.4ohm coils (pretty sure I switched to the 2.4s but it's been a while since I've restocked and I forget which I bought the last time), but one of my batteries has stopped holding a charge so it's time to go shopping :) I recently picked up vaping again after putting it down for quite a while as I found the experience unpleasant (coughing, lots of throat irritation - the usual) and I suspected it was the propylene glycol in the liquids I'd been using (as well as inhalation method, which I've tweaked with positive results). So, I ordered a bunch of vg based juice from Velvet Cloud and so far I'm loving it and the whole experience has been a smoother one than before. But... one of my batteries is kaput, I made the switch to vg-only, my vaping can be (but isn't always) on the heavy side, and I'm noticing the coil is getting pretty hot... I suspect I need to make some adjustments, and since I need to look for a new back-up battery anyway, I thought I'd get some input before buying any new hardware. Just looking for suggestions on what might need tweaking, if anything, or suggestions for different batteries (maybe with a longer life? I get between 1/2 day and 1 day out of the ego-C 1000mAh that still holds a charge). Thanks in advance!

Have you looked at any in online stores to have in mind maybe a budget, size, shape to go on?

Without knowing what you want beyond easy to use and battery life - Best bang for the buck (and its easy to use) is an MVP2. If that is to big for your tastes then its little sister the VV V3 is pretty well the same size and battery life of the ego-c but it has variable voltage/wattage and a few other nice features.

Happy vaping :)

Device suggestions above are exactly what I would have suggested as well.

For your initial throat irritation – it could have very well been to vaping by itself (independent of the PG/VG ratio). Myself and many others were/are getting all the symptoms you had until our body got used to inhaling vapor (which could have very well happened to you right around the time you switched to all VG liquids). I would give regular 50/50 60/40 (whatever) PG/VG mixtures another shot in the near future - that consistency tends to run best in the majority of devices.

If you are getting almost a day out of your battery, you would probably only have to charge a mvp2 every 4 days. I was just telling someone last night that I get around 1100 "toots" off of a battery charge. Fantastic battery life and all my atomizers look good on it. I use several different pv's during the day but I can tell you right now I would buy another on today if mine goes out. When I find it for a good price I will probably get another one for backup.

If you are using 100% vg, you could always add a drop or two of distilled water to thin it out a bit and maybe get a longer usage off the coils. I use ProTanks and evods (and now drippers) but you would be surprised at how easy they are to rebuild yourself. You could save lots of money there. I learned from watching YouTube so it is pretty safe to say it is easy if I've accomplished rebuilding.

Good luck to you and I hope to read more posts about your vaping journey. Welcome to ecf and I'm glad you are here.

I should have clarified I haven't been vaping for about 6months because of those persistent symptoms despite giving it a long fair shot with standard liquids, now I'm cold turkey off regular smokes with the VG and having a much easier time of it with no other changes besides being a little more mindful of inhalation, which was something I still aware of the last time as well. I'm aware of the consistency troubles that people often have with a vg base, but these seem pretty well diluted already (vg/distilled water) - no troubles with clogging - and the reviews of this particular brand support that as well. That being said, it's likely I'll give pg/vg blends another go at some point if for no other reason than convenience (that's about all the vape shops around here carry). While there hasn't been clogging and the vg/distilled water blend doesn't appear denser than other liquids I've used, I wonder if isn't straining the coils (also new). I don't remember them heating up so much before.

As for size/shape/budget, I'd prefer to not have to spend a fortune, and I like the size ego-C and my evod tanks, but I wouldn't mind going big either. Ideally, something in between the ego-C and the MVP2 would be nice (mostly because I'd like to switch to a larger tank without it dwarfing the battery), but function is generally more important to me than aesthetics. I'll def check out the MVP2 :)

I bet your getting dried out. Try drinking a lot of water BEFORE (I emphasis before, just like when drinking alcohol, if you start drinking water once you started drinking alcohol, it will help, but being hydrated beforehand is much better) and when vaping. PG/VG are hygroscopic or able to pull water from surrounding sources (your throat).
