I use Evic and just ordered 2 new AW IMR 18650 3400 batts. I guess they are a little longer than the Samsung I used before. The end cap won't screw all the way up the threads to meet the tube flush. Is this a danger? Think it might put too much pressure on the electronics? Evic with IMR AW 18650.jpg

It may be pushing too hard on the battery and damage the batteries. If you see a dent on the battery on +/- terminals, its a goner. It may be ok but I would not feel safe to use them.

May be consider replacing the spring. (keep the old springs just in case.) Replacement flashlight springs may fit and they are cheap. Cut them to the length you need and it should be good to go.

Cheers

Protected batteries (such as your battery) are just a tad longer than "regular" IMR's because of the addition of the protection circuit.

The Anatomy of a Protected Battery

I don't know all that much about Evics, but a protected battery in a regulated mod isn't really necessary (as long as the mod itself has protection) and in some cases it can hamper performance.

That being said, I would be concerned about damage to the protection circuit if there's too much pressure placed on it. As Choc_Addict mentioned, if the end caps are dented, I'd get rid of the batteries.
