I've preordered the smy god 180 which is capable of running 3-18650 batteries (in series) so I've narrowed my battery choices down to A FEW: NCR18650BD/3200MAH/10A, NCR18650PD/2900/10A, NCR18650PF/2900/10A, 18650VTC5/2600MAH/30A, LG18650HE2/2500MAH/20A, & INR18650-25R/2500MAH/20A

I want long battery life but also want the capability of using 180w safely if I feel the need or even subohm, so what do you guys suggest? I've been using the ncr18650b but read all the bad posts about em so I'm tryna get something safer! Please help!

First, the resistance of the atty is not an issue regarding power output. You are setting watts and the device will set the correct voltage to make that amount of power regardless of the resistance. The only concern is the device has a voltage output limit which means you will not get to max watts with all resistances.

Minimum 25 amp batteries make sense for 180 watts output. Personally I would not go less than 30 amps which means Sony VTC. I don't know of any reputable supplier that has VTC5's. Battery Junction has Xtar VTC4 for $8, but they are button top so will be longer. They also state in the description they are protected, which doesn't make any sense. I would email them and ask about all this before buying those. RTD Vapor has the same battery in flat top and they don't talk about protection. Price is $11.79.

If you know of any VTC5s out there, let us know :)

XTAR Direct has the VTC4 cells for $9.95 each:

Origin Vape also has them for $9.95:

Be advised that the XTAR cells are taller than their OEM Sony counterparts and may not fit in all mods. They don't fit in my Hana clone but they do fit in my IPV2. So, YMMV. Origin has pics showing the difference. I also created a thread showing the difference:

in lieu of a sony VTC, next best choice in terms of cont amp draw would be the 24A AW 18650. its only 1600mAh, but besides sony, all other well-tested high quality batts that i know of are lower cont amp draw.
