Battery help

So I just bought a mod, and I got two batteries for it. Since then, I have been reading a lot about unsafe batteries and the consequences. I was wondering if these two that I have are safe.

WU Rechargeable Battery 3.7V 2000 mAh IMR 18650
Efest High drain rechargeable battery 3.7V LI-MN 2000 mAh IMR 18650

I would appreciate the help!

I think you mean to say you bought a mod? An RDA is a rebuildable dripper atomizer. What mod do you have? I have not heard of "WU" batteries, but people do commonly use Efest.
I like the AW IMR batteries, they are red. I also use the blue 25R Samsung 18650's, and some Xtar black 18650's.
When batteries become unsafe-is generally if you run them down too low, drop or damage them, short your atomizer, rub them against metal objects...say in your pocket/purse etc, ,are so old they are beyond their recharging capabilities. And also when you run too low of a build for the amp rating of the battery, and push the battery too hard.

Yeah, I guess a mod haha. Still trying to figure this all out. The top says plume veil and the bottom says AV... I don't really know exactly what to call it. I thought the "WU" battery was strange also, it has no other name on it but I tried looking it up and it didn't come up with anything, which worries me. Thank you for the help.

Ok a plume veil is an RDA. Do you have a pic you can post? Do you have the other supplies you will need to build the atomizer? Is the mod a regulated or mech mod, do you know? You need to have a way to check your build, a multimeter, ohms meter, something. You will need wick and wire. You should understand ohm's law.
Please do not take this the wrong way, but if you are not sure what you have, you need to do a lot more reading and research before attempting to use it.

There is a 2000 mAh Efest battery on Baditudes list that is rated 10A CDR. I agree with @ezah, set aside the WU battery, use it in your flashlights.

If you are new to mech mods and rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding mods and rebuildables are listed below:

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries not as Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Don't know about the WU one - the effect 2000mah seems to have a 10amp limit

Yup, the Efest 2000 mAh has a 10A limit. That should be good up to about 20 watts on a regulated mod or down to about 0.6 ohms on a mechanical mod.

I also would recycle the WU batt because I can't find any data on it.
