Battery issues common or just Colorado E-Smokes?

Hello all!

On the recommendations of several friends, I recently tried out our local B&M, Colorado E-Smokes (CES). I'm only about a month in, but so far I think I'm more addicted to vaping than I ever was to cigarettes!

My first-time (non-disposable) e-cig buy at CES was amazing. Their staff is super knowledgeable; they use the products, so they're great with tips and recommendations. The salesperson was really patient and informative, letting me try all the flavors and explaining how the thing works. People say CES is overpriced, but I'm too new to know. I spent $120 on the Pro Colesman kit: two "spinner"-type batteries (you can adjust the voltage from 3.2-4.8v), two 1.6ml plastic atomizers, a USB charger, a few extra tips and a bottle of their Coles "Clove" e-juice. Is that a total gyp? (Their juice is DEF overpriced at $15/15ml, as I found after perusing ECF and ordering from online vendors, but the Coles flavors I've tried ARE tasty, if not worth the full price.) If anyone has experience with CES, how do you rate them and their products?

Great customer service aside, I've had issues with the charger/batteries. Tonight, for the second time, a battery got stuck in the charger. It simply won't unscrew without applying a lot of force, and then the thing comes apart, wires, button, and all. I can put it back together, but it doesn't charge or work properly afterward. The first time, I took it back and got a replacement for free, but they said that issue isn't usually covered by their one-year warranty. Now it happened again!

Anyone else have this battery/charger issue? Is it common to e-cigs or is it a CES thing? As suggested, I've been using a Q-tip to swipe out whatever seepage or black stuff from both the charger and the charging end of the battery each time I plug it in, but I don't know what else to do. Is it a CES issue, or am I "just doing it wrong"? Help, please!

Thanks in advance for the advice!

120 for that kit is pricey, spinners can be had at 20-25 bucks each with chargers often, the 1.6ml atties sound like ce# which are usually under 10 each, drip tips vary but for the standard stuff about 5-7 bucks is okay. can be had cheaper but takes some searching and as you know juice can be as cheap as 50cents a ml or 1-2 dollars a ml depending on the vendor.

it sounds like you might be over tightening the battery to the charger, finger tight is sufficient. A good ego style battery wont have the breaking apart aspect, that's usually the issue for the really cheap knock-offs. I definitely sounds like a company issue, and that they may be using lesser quality products.

hope this clears a bit up for you.

Hello mate.

I've been to CES and bought a tank and juices etc. That was a bit of a mistake tbh.

Depending on which store you went to, I agree that the staff can be helpful and friendly. I even spoke to the owner of the company the first time I went there. After one day, my clearo (vivi-nova) which I bought for...wait for it...$15 decided to give up. I knew I had a 12 month warranty on it so took it back the next day assuming it was just a faulty one. I was rather unpolitely told to sod off.

You already know the juice is overpriced and the gear is way ott. To give you an idea, they sell a Vamo with a PT knock off and a battery for $120.

I obviously didn't go back to buy anything else.

Try Vaporleaf instead, if you want a b&m store. Really helpful and knowledgeable staff and all the gear you could want. Gets busy though.

Cheers and good luck.

I can say I started the same way and then joined ECF and never looked back. I still have their batteries I use for running around but can say their warranty sucks. I had a problem with my battery coming apart from the connection and the owner basically said I was SOL and he would discount me for new stuff. Now I shop at other places and their stuff is over priced.

Check here USA Ecigarette Directory

Also yelp keyword vapor.

VaporTech, Vaporleaf, SteamSpot, and elements of vapor are great places. Shop around and better stuff and better prices on liquid. If you need a place in you area PM me, I think I found about every shop in the area.

I will get off my soap box now.

That's exactly what's happening. Sometimes when I go to unscrew the batt from the charger, it feels "stuck." If I use the torque necessary to unscrew it, the top of the batt (the silver part) comes apart from the base, exposing the wires and chip thingie, and losing the button in the process.

To be fair, a week or two ago, I was enjoying a bubble bath with a book and a glass of wine, happily vaping away, and I accidentally dropped the whole e-cig in the tub. I fished it out, took the atomizer off and dried everything thoroughly... and it worked. The juice was slightly thinner, but it still worked exactly as before. Then, like 10 minutes later, I dropped the dang thing in the water again (perhaps I drank too much wine...). Repeated drying process, repeated results. That pretty much sold me on the product — at the time.

I didn't have any problems with that particular battery until last night with the charger, but I don't think water damage was the (sole?) cause, considering my non-damaged battery came apart, too.

Anyway, thanks for the tips! I'm omw out the door right now, but when I get a chance, I'll PM you about the B&Ms you've found around town.
