In order to get a satisfying vape, I have become something of a fog generator. Now, I'm not a super sub ohm cloud making beast, but my go to build for almost a year now has been a dual coil 28 gauge kanthal in an igo w5 with drilled out air holes. Total resistance of 0.6 ohms.

I use three types of batteries.

I use the efest 2000 mAh 10A red button tops
also sony vtc4 flat tops (2100 mAh)
also panny NCR18650pd (2900)

all of these batts are capable of continuously supplying more than the amperage I'm asking for.

however, I just don't get the "all day vape time" that a lot of people claim from good 18650 batts.

with the efest or sony average about 3 to 3.5 hours before I notice my vape getting kinda weak.
with the bigger capacity 2900 mAh panasonics, I get between 4.5 to maybe 5 ish hours.

When I notice my vape starting to get weak, I take my batts out and check voltage. Usually it's at 3.5 or 3.6.

am I being too demanding? Am I not getting a full day of vaping because I draw so much current, or is there something wrong with my batts?

i do suck on this thing like its a pacifier most days, so I'm vaping a lot during those hours. It's a little aggressive, but it's helped me drop down to 1mg nic liquid and stay satisfied.

The math works out. You're drawing 6.7 amps from a battery that has 20 amp-hours of energy. If the device was on continuously you'd get just shy of 3 hours from the battery. The only way to extend the run time is to either decrease the energy drain, (by increasing the resistance), or increase the amount of energy in the battery(s).

I can get 8 hrs, easily, from an 1100mah regular old Efest 18490... but my builds are 1.4-1.8 ohms. When I first heard that about lower resistance using up batteries faster, that settled it for me -- I'll never go lower than 1.4 ohms. None of my mods will support anything below 1.3 ohms anyway, unless I take the Kicks out of my mechs.

I've tried different batteries and get roughly the same 3-4 hrs depending. I usually run a .5-.7 coil but I drive so I vape constantly. I'm glad to hear others get the same. I was about to drop a lot of money for new batteries thinking mine were junk even though they're new.

And this is exactly why I started this thread! I was having the same thoughts that hey, I've been kind to these batts, but the efests are over two years old, and the others are over a year, maybe they're just tired. I was eyeballing some new batts, but figured maybe I'm not alone, and if I find out my batt life is in line, maybe someone else will too.

Thank you Ginny, you made my night!

My family tree starts in WBGV and still a few there. Chain vaping while driving must be in the genes.

I tried a dual coil dripper on a Zmax and only got around 150 puffs before the battery wimped. Mostly I do 2 ohm coils at 8 watts to get all day service.

I just got a pair of efest 3100mah so hope they do well.

That's about what I get, I made up this little chart for myself, it is only *approximates*----results may vary by a 1/2 hour or hour (+) or (-) depending on YOUR vaping habits. I don't have any of the high amp batts in my list since i only use the older ones and I only use AWs and do not sub ohm or use less than 1.5ohm:

360mah or 10440 about 2 hours
650mah (Ego enclosed) about 4 hours
14500 @ 600 about 4 hours
18350 @800mah= aprox 5-6 hours vape time
18490 @ 1100 about 6-8 hours
18650 @ 1600 about 8-12 hours
18650 @ 2000mah about 12-14 hours (supposedly.....but actually discharges quicker than the 1600mAH!)

I just got a new pair of AW 18490's; they're 1200mAh instead of 1100, but what really sold me on them was that they're 18 amp batteries (for the same price as the 1100 mah version, which support much lower amps) -- with my conservative builds, I'm thinking I may get more battery life out of them than a mere 100 more mAh would suggest.

I have and IPV mini and two Samsung 25Rs. I don't get all day out of my batteries and I'm using Kayfuns running 1.0 to 1.3 ohms most of the day with an odd bit of time with a Kanger Subtank mini. I vape a LOT. I can get 12 hours at most. I just recently picked up an iStick 50 and it definitely has more battery life. I have been integrating it into my daily schedule (using it for when I go out for work instead of working in the home office) and I have yet to have to charge it. Granted that is only 3 working days so far, but it seems to be holding up very well with over half its charge left.
