Howdy,

I just received a new Provari w/ extension 3 days ago. I really like the exterior fit and finish, however am wondering if it is not operating as well as it should. It vapes great, but the battery life seems to be lacking. I would really appreciate your guys' input.

I've been running it with two AW IMR 18650 2000mah batteries that are brand new also. I have tried two different mini novas, both at 2.9 ohms according to Provari. I run the device between 4.7 - 4.9 volts.

I am only getting around 8-10 hrs out of the device before it shuts off. This equates to 4-5 mls of juice per battery. I have to use almost 2 full batteries a day. My vision 1300 spinner seemed to last about this long (probably the main reason for my upgrade).

When I pop in a new battery, the device will read 4.0-4.1 volts. At this same time my mutimeter reads 4.16-4.18v.

The light starts flashing at 3.5 volts according to the Provari.

Before the battery dies, the last reading I get on the Provari is 3.4 volts. By the time it completely shuts off, my multimeter still registers the battery at 3.63 volts.

I have also received one random E8 message. I have cleaned the center pin with alcohol, cleaned the threading, and finally bathed the inside in isopropyl as per the instructions. The center pin already has a dark spot which I can not remove. When I look inside with a flashlight it looks more like the coating has chipped away than like there is residual build up. Is this normal?

How long does your Provari last on a single charge for you guys? How many mils of juice do you use in that amount of time? Approximately how many watts are you running? What capacity battery?

Is my beautiful machine jacked up?

Sounds like it's working normally. I used to get about 6 hours on a couple of no-brand 2000mAh
I switched to a Samsung 2600mAh and don't even think about it anymore. I pop in a battery at 6:00am and usually swap when I get home. give or take 4:30 to 5:00pm
Vaping habits vary though. I'm not a chain vapor, but then again I'm not hording the juice.

Sounds to me like you've been fixing your Provari to death.
Here is a pic of mine taken before there was ever a battery put in it for you to compare to.
So now you know that the "black spot" is normal.

I use 18490's in mine mainly because I use the same bat in my Reo. I find that the charge life is about the same in both PV's using LR with the Reo, and SR on the Provari in the 4.2-4.5v range.

I can't say in hours how long that is because

Thank for the replies. So far it looks like I may be being slightly neurotic Anyone else think otherwise?

Any issues using the non-high drain battery, McCawley?

My battery post looks to be in slightly better shape than yours TJ, appreciate the pic.

Damn, I'm kind of disappointed as I was really hoping I could get a full day out of this thing when I ordered it. Any recommendations for a similarly durable mod that I could vape on all day with a single battery?

...I was getting 12 hours on a new battery/Provari/18650..at around 3.7-4 watts.... now that the batteries have been cycled a few time, I think the amount of time has dropped to closer to 8 hrs, other things have remained pretty close to the same... this for me, meant about 3 or 4 fills on the ZAP..so let's say 10ml at least...

...I saw a few bits of news about new mods which will use an even bigger monster battery, but nothing available now, and I don't have the link/info, sorry...

...as far as the rest, I agree.... am thinking to order another couple batteries, and will need to carry one along.
...there might also be something re:the quality of the chargers that we're using that is worth comment or looking into...
    Good luck, cheers, ~M

I think week I was getting about 12-14 hours per day using cartomizers. Then I switched to a 3.5 DCT tank and its more like 8-10 now...but I think thats because I don't have to stop and refill the carto so often :) Could also be that I press the damn button like every 10 secs or so though as well. Kinda like a Pavlov experiment.

Well, I just wanted to follow up on this...

After posting the original post, my battery life dropped down to less then 4 hours and 3 mls of juice. I tried alcohol swabbing, alcohol bath, cleaning the contacts and noalox to no avail.

I sent the device back to provari and they fixed it for free. Not sure exactly what they did, but the positive pin looks different. The thing works great now! I threw in a partially charged 18650 at 4.0 volts, and vaped for 8 hours and 5mls of juice before the led started blinking.

Thanks for the great customer service Jennifer, Cecilia, and the rest of the Provape team.
