I hope this is the correct place for this question, if not, hopefully a mod will move it.
In view of a few battery saftey posts, I have this question. Can you name a few of the box mods that are safer due to some form of protection, like a good spring setup that will collapse? I ask because two of my mods, which are the cheaper plastic boxes, the spring is almost fully compressed when the battery is installed. It looks like it would have to completly disenegrate before the battery would drop down. This to me does not look like a good setup for saftey, and until recently I had not thought much about it. I would appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thanks.

Your box mod, if plastic, has a built-in safety feature.

Would it take a little lady finger firecracker or a M-80 to pop the lid off?

Pressure build up inside a sealed pipe bomb mod is the greatest danger.
Batteries blowing up usually violently 'spill their guts'.
Try and contain that and BLAM.

Watch some of the laptop Li-ion batteries failures on youtube (intentional failures) and flames and fire, but laptop just sits there and melts away. 9 Li-ion 18650 cells in most laptops.
