battery options

I would like to end up with about 1/2" of telescope showing.I have an 18650 in there screwed all the way now and am afraid it could be too much for penelope pin (and/or bottom spring)... I would like that gap to be a little smaller yet. I tried an 18490 and that is too close.I have no 18500 but will an 18500 make a diff? any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've seen the 18490 and 18500 grouped together as if they are the same so I'm not sure if there is a difference in length or even how they differ at all. I only have the AW IMR 18490s.

River the number is the size, 18490 means it is 18mm in diameter, 49mm in length, and the last 0 means it is round, so the 18490 is 1mm longer then the 18500.

GGTS and Penelope will have no problems handling a 18650 battery. In fact it will handle a lot more power than that single battery can produce. There are members running two 18650 together and some with 3. You have the best of the best PV's. the only way you will fry anything is if you have a short or hold the button down for a really really long time.

i am refering to too much stress on either point (top cap to penelope connection and/or bottom spring).

You don't want to screw it too tight for sure. You will have to live with the size gaps that each battery creates as I see it. Or you could try the 18490 with a magnetic battery spacer to widen the space if it's not enough for you. But you have to be careful of shorts using spacers.

Ive been looking for a spacer solution so that I dont have to use the telescope if I dont want to...this looks like an excellent solution! thank you for sharing Juan.

You can just take the part above the telescope off and use 18490/500 without a problem.

ok. i solved my dilema...i have a couple 4 in 1 caps, the center pin in those is much longer inside the tube than with the stealth cap i have.(which gives me the look im looking for).so dilema one solved...new dilema.. i cant use the 4 in 1s on my stealth...

can i use this? Stealth Connector Pin and Stealth Connector plastic. and that will just screw into my caps? i have the older 4 in 1 caps.

yes..i have 18350s and they push the pin way too far out....
those connector pin and plastic should just screw/fit in right? i saw someone yesterday having trouble getting one to fit..was that you river?

ok. i took apart my stealth cap and the plastic will not thread into where the plastic is in my 4 in1 cap(s).how can i convert my 4 in 1s to stealth caps?
