If I had 4 batteries at 4.2 volts with a max discharge of 10 Amps.

What would happen if they were stacked them or in other words put them in series to achieve 16.8 volts, is my max current draw still only 10 amps?

Another perspective what would be the max current draw if they were all in parallel noting the volt to be 4.2?

This is a hypothetical question, no actual batteries are being stacked as of yet.

Stacked batteries increase voltage, while amperage and capacity stays the same.
- 4 stacked would be 16.8V with a 10A limit.

Parallel batteries increase amperage and capacity, while voltage stays the same.
- 4 parallel would be 4.2V with a theoretical 40A limit and increased capacity. Realistically you would have less than 40A available due to other factors.
