Not good at all. Probably aren't getting those wattages anyway with those batts. If your vaping 170-180 on a dual mod really need Sony vtc5a batts and even then your pushing it. Really need a 3 battery mod for that much wattage safely. Is it all on the gpriv?

I run the tfv8 on my fuchai 213 and alien at 80-100 the g priv is dedicated to the tfv12 now, never had them even get hot pushing them that hard

Everything is fine until it isnt. If u are really getting 170 watts from the gpriv which it does pretty accurately that would be 23 amps at nominal voltage but as many as 28.3 when the batteries are low. Mooch rates those at best bet 20 amps but as low as 10 depending which basen u have but they are all overrated. And I didn't even factor efficiency.

So basically of they didn't vent or get warm 2 things are happening
1) the mods protections are kicking in and you aren't getting anywhere near 170 watts
2) the batteries are failing so badly that the mod can't draw enough from them and u aren't getting 170 watts.

So in other words it's literally impossible for u to be getting 170 watts on those batts without them getting warm on you. Maybe I got lucky and got ones that are a rewrapped 30q but even then your just tempting fate. Eventually things are gonna go bad for you and I don't want to see that personally and I'm sure u don't want to see that either.

Well I never said I was getting a true 170w I'm just saying that I work at hobby shop and deal with lipo batteries all day every day so I know my battery safety and I know what to look out for. I'm sure the mod is kicking protections which is what a regulated mod is supposed to do, I also don't chain vape on it until my mod is hot

True but these aren't lipos. Mooch did all the testing. You are exceeding the amp limit of the batteries. What if protections fail?

What Canadian suppliers are reliable?

I go to a local B&M who provides sourcing information on every case they bring in. They're called the Vapor Trail. I used to go with East Coast Vape but they recently changed their 18650 line and only carry eFest, LG HG2s and Samsung 25R. I dont know the reason for this change and their main store is 5 hours away(plus a $50 bridge toll). I cant currently recommend a big name supplier that is within Canada. If you know of any, please let me know as I would love to get some 30Qs without going out of country.

You're way, way over the amp rating of those batteries at 170-180w. Get some true 30-amp batteries (LG hb2/4/6) from a trusted vendor before you hurt yourself, and possibly others.

I chatted with him a bit last night. he knows what he needs to do. with HB6 batts he isn't gonna get much life. he really needs a triple battery mod, drop the basens and get some better batteries. but at least now he knows what he needs
