Do protected AW batteries hit just as hard as regular AW IRM batteries? The reason I ask, I'm really impressed by the way that AW IMR 14500's hit with dual coil cartomisers and now I'm thinking of moving up to an 18650 mod but I need to know which battery to get. I still want that great hit but I also want the long life from the higher mah rating. Any light shone on the situation would greatly help.
Thanks,
Diagasa

Really depends on the application. If your using a LR on 3.7V then the AW IMR's are the way to go. Which will also prolong the battery life since LR drains protected batteries fairly quickly. Also, you will get a more consistent vape since the voltage isn't dropping as fast.

If your using this on something like a VV device then the protected batts will work great since the mod will keep the voltage right where it is. This will allow you longer battery life since it won't get drained as fast compared to a LR atty/carto at 3.7V.

Yes both batteries will give a great vape. The real difference between a regular AW battery and a AW IMR "High-Drain" battery is that the high drain batteries provide a more constant voltage as the battery drains. You will especially notice it if the PV you use is unregulated. As a battery drains, youll notice the quality of the vape also drops some, thats with all batteries. The IMR batteries will just provide a consistant vape for longer. Only downside is that IMRs are generally a little less mah. For example, I use an E-power which uses 14650 batteries. The stock protected batteries are 1050mah, while the 14650 IMR High-Drain battery that I have is 950mah. Their def worth it though, and work well.
If you get something that uses a 18650 battery, even the IMR battery will still last well over a day, so youll still get great battery life

I believe David at Super T Manufacturing recommends the AW protected 2600 mah for use in his P+ 18650. The reason (if I remember correctly) is that voltage drops slower. In other words, it stays at 4.0-4.2 volts longer before it starts to drop.

I saw some graphs comparing different batts w y-axis - voltage x-axis - time. Can't seem to find them, though.
