Does anyone know if the red 18650 batteries that come on the vv mod/lavatube from cdnvapor are protected?

See the rim at the top (positive) ?

If it has a protection PCB it will have a ridge at the bottom as well - so its either LiMn or an unprotected

It is a "chemically safe" batt. The main thing to be safe with the LT is to ensure that the vent hole on the bottom cap goes all the way through the cap.

Its a IMR safer chemistry battery, the lavatube itself should have a protection circuit build into it.
