I understand what you are saying about cutting and pasting, but I wouldn't say 100% rubbish depending on what you are doing.
Let me explain... you have a point when you were talking about the screwdriver and it being a workhorse.. that would definately shorten the recharge count considerably (i would imagine) especially if someone frequently uses the PV.
Li-ion batts have alot of factors that determine there life span... temperature, level of discharge prior to charging, and the speed of discharge..... so if one has a work horse and sucks down the charge at a quick rate then yes you most likely wont get the cut and paste figure
(i mean look at laptops and what they do to batts)
as for the JS unless you are smoke stacking it though it has a AAA sized battery it should last quite a bit of charges... maybe not the 500 but I would guess pretty high.... I dont think I will be needing to replace my battery in a couple of months.... my cell phone does well too and I am on it all the time. (I know ecig is different)
so I am not trying to insult your intellegence because I am sure you are very knowledgeable and border line legendary (no sarcasim) I was just keeping it simple and wasn't intending to give an exact count put to say that it should last awhile (but maybe by just saying 500 was implying that they should last forever,,, which wasn't my intent)
If the least could you say that it is 80% rubbish I mean I don't think I am totally talking out of my azz
utter 100% total rubbish.. you are correct in quoting copy and paste theoretical figures but miles out from reality..
a pair of bigger screwdriver batteries we think are good for two to three months.. at one charge per day that would be say 75 charges.. then the run time falls off noticeably..
smaller 10440 cells because they are being worked harder probably are good for 40 or so charges before they drop off badly..
where e cigs are concerned just forget the copy and paste rubbish.. cos thats exactly what it is..
they dont last long because they are like a donkey on steroids being ask to do the job a cart horse should be doing.. they manage it but not for long..
another analogy would be to put a motor cycle battery in your 4 x 4 truck and see if it manages to live out the copy and past theoretical lifetime.. it wont... he he
e cigs put form over function.. the common desire to have them small and cigarettes size means they are not big enough for all day and every day use.. they wear out long before they should do..
