Take a look at the bottom of the battery, does it have the battery protector disc attached?? you can tell one is there by noticing a curve in the protective wrapping near the base ( - side) of the battery. Also the disc has a golden color instead of the normal silver tone, and there will be a small metal strap running towards the top of the battery that will be spot welded to the + post of the battery.
If your battery set has the protector, its a good chance the protector is malfunctioning. But here is a good test to try, do you have another battery to charge? If so charge it and see if the voltage is proper, if it charges full, then you can rule out a bad charger....and assume the Efests are the issue. I picked up 2 of the same batteries and removed the protectors due to the additional length causing problems in my Vamo. With 2 of them stacked, I couldnt put the base cap on the battery tube... so off came the protectors.

If you plan to remove the protectors, cut the metal strap off of the + end first before you do any other surgery. Cutting the top strap first keeps you from shorting out the battery when you have to cut the protective wrap near the base of the battery.

Does the charger have a switch for two different levels of charge? I've had one, and the switch accidentally got set to the lower voltage range, so they would come off the charger at 3.6 volts. If not, I would still suspect it's the charger, as two week old batteries just don't decline that fast unless they're cheap copies. Good luck!

Folks, DO NOT ATTEMPT to disassemble a battery. This is highly dangerous and not recommended at all.

This does NOT seem like a good idea to me! I have found through LOTS of experience, that when the manufacturer puts ANY kind of protective measures in place, it's for a REASON! Kind of like having a GFI circuit in a damp place, if it keeps blowing, putting in a NON GFI circuit is generally a BAAAAD idea. Don't bother asking me how I know ...

I have 2 efest 3100mah 18650 batteries. My charger is a trustfire charger. When I first got them about 2 weeks ago they were reading 4.0-4.1v. Now when the charger says they're fully charged. They read 3.5v and only go down to 3.3v and I have to recharge them. Is it the charger or the batteries?

Some trustfire chargers have a switch on the side for 3volt charge or 3.5volts. Make sure it didn't accidentally get switched.
