My new sigelei 100 watt Plus just arrived in the mail. The 18650 2100mah 30amp flat top purple efest batteries unfortunaley have not arrived yet. They reccomend these in the device description. All I currently have is the red Efest 18650 2000mah button top V 2. I looked up the amp output and it is only 4.5 as opposed to the 30 amp reccomended. I am wondering if these batteries would damage my new device if used. That of course is if the button top would even fit. The technology in these is older than the newer IMR'S but they seam to be very similar besides the amps and mah. I know that the device would not be as powerful with these batteries but if they do fit does anyone think they would cause any damage.

The biggest danger would be passing 4.5 amps which would be around 20 watts. Then the battery would likely go into thermal runaway and now it is too late. As the battery is on its own and within a split second build up to 400psi and blow the seal (and maybe the mod itself). And now it would be shooting flames and toxic gasses that would destroy your lungs if inhaled. And may burn down your house, car, or whatever. I just won't do it. Too much to risk.

Bills right , Reece when you get into high wattage or any form of sub-ohming use only 20A+ batteries , don't do what some do and buy the cheapest batteries and push their limits, I personally hate efest batteries
I only use Samsung's 25r or the LG he2 batteries both perform better than the efest , my grandfather's ipv2 heats up at high wattages when the efest he bought with it is used , but neither the Samsung or LG even sweat it
