My Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries are going on two years now, and they've lost quite a bit of their former capacity. I'm looking to get new batteries, and was wondering if anybody could give advice.

I'm currently looking at the Panasonic 3400mAh NCR18650B Flat Top.

I use a Sigelei zMax v3 set at 4.2v with an Aspire nautilus Mini with a 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coil. I don't sub-ohm and I don't plan to for the foreseeable future. I'm primarily interested in the Panasonics due their high capacity and wanted to know if they would be appropriate for my set up, or if there are better choices.

I've realized this isn't the best section - if a mod sees this thread, could you move it to the Batteries and Chargers section?

Having done a bit more research, I find that the Low Voltage reading on my Sigelei kicks in at 3.4V. So, I can't discharge a battery below that in my Sigelei. So it looks like the NCR18650B Panasonic wouldn't be the best choice, as alot of its capacity would be inaccessible given the fact that the 3.4V cutoff on the Sigelei would kick in fairly early.

According to the chart from battery guru Mooch, the NCR18650B's are rated as a 10A CDR battery. For a low-power setup where they're not being stressed, which your setup falls into, they should be "okay" - not the best, but passable. Going up a notch to something like the LG HG2 (20A, 3000mAH) might be a better choice for similar mAH with a higher amperage CDR.

As you might have figured out by now, the Panasonic (and Orbtronic) NCR18650B 3400mah battery is not considered a high drain battery (only 6.7 amps CDR) and was designed for low drain applications like a flashlight.

In a regulated mod, even at reasonable voltage and standard resistance coils, you still need a high drain battery of at least 10 amps CDR. Why High Drain Batteries?

The LG HG2 3000mah 20 amps or Samsung 30Q 3000mah 20 amps would be my top choices for your application.

I've definitely been looking at both of those. The HG2 is currently backordered on the site I'd prefer to order from though (illumn.com).

Basically, I'm looking at whatever will give me the longest use before my mod's 3.4V low voltage cutoff kicks in. While the Panasonic NCR18650B looks good on paper, I think there's going to be a lot of wasted capacity as my regulated Sigelei will cut off any power draw from it below 3.4V, something I wasn't really aware of when I first posted this thread.
