hey everybody...

i just have a question about the lifespan of most batteries....i use an aw imr 18650 for my mech mods. now how long does it last on you? i usually get really good flavor and vapor around 3 hours and then it starts to drop...is this normal?my 18350 lasts the same too...around 2-3 hrs of strong vapor and then drops...when that happens is it telling me "charge me now or suffer consequences?"

i've read a lot of battery topics here and there but still this thing with mech mods and battery life is confusing me...i had no problems with my vv's since it wont fire anymore when im low in battery...

So many things make up battery life. In my mech I run a .8 ohm coil and consider it dead around 3.6 volts. As to how many hours that take depends on how much I'm hitting it. Rule of thumb for me is once I'm not happy with the vapor production it's time to switch batts. I always have a trash 650 in the morning and carry an extra in case I'm vaping heavy that day. Most of the time the 2 get me from wake up till sleepy time. Best of luck to you and remember so much of vaping is based on what you like not a solid rule.

What you are seeing is the difference between a mechanical mod and VV.....On a mechanical mod the battery voltage on a fully charged battery will be around 4.2 volts...as you vape the battery voltage will decrease, thus changing the vape experience. At some point the experience gets to the point you no longer get what you like. The voltage has dropped to the point that the coil of the atty/carto no longer can produce the heat necessary to give you the same vape as you got with a fully charged battery. Thus time to recharge/ put in new battery....this is normal....

on a VV mod the circuit (electronics) maintains a set voltage until the battery reaches a certain voltage and then the circuit cuts off. Thus a more consistant vape for a longer time.

This is just a short narrative of what you are seeing...not wanting to go into a more detailed technical explaination....hope this helps....
