Ive seen these everywhere and i was scared at first, kept me away from mech mods. But if i dont short it then why should i be scared, im not going into the danger zone.
What batteries are you going to use? (Brand, model, amp limit?)

Not all batteries will be able to handle your proposed 0.3 ohm coil. Do you know which ones can? If you don't, you should be scared.

Do you know how to use an Ohm's Law Calculator, and why its important? If not, you should be scared.

Do you know the signs of a short? Do you know what to do if you experience one? If not, you should be scared.

I'm serious, you're not ready yet for sub-ohms.

So it seems like i am ordering from different sites in which are resulting in a high price. I decided to order from mtbakervapor and vivid smoke only. I cant buy any mech mod atm, fudge it. I have to order 3 vtc5 - ipv2 - plume veil - battery case - a-1 kanthal - i4 charger - 100$ worth ejuice. This is all i need right ?

What type of vaporizer are you using now

okay so lets say i buy a mech mod. Sony's vtc5 have a 30 amp headroom. Going above that wont short you, it will pulse. If your coils touch the posts it can cause a short. Going above the limit will endanger you. Never overcharge batteries, never discharge them, never stack, use imr-li po batteries and in this case the vtc5 are hybrid. At 0.3 ohms it will be using 16 amps off my battery in which i am in the safe zone. I am ready in terms of mech mods. And if my battery starts to make a "hiss or haaaa" sound i should put the mod in a place away from myself. Why am i not ready ?

nothing atm. sold my ego cause it was bad. And nvm i can still purchase my mech mod, there was a misunderstanding. The reason i love mech mods over boxes is the fact that i can switch out batteries really fast and i could adjust it to any setting i want it to be. I have read the safety features and ohms law like literally. What makes me un-ready ?

What do you do if your fire button gets hot? What's going on?

What's going on if your mod gets hot? How do you troubleshoot this?

How do you keep your battery from becoming over-discharged in your mod? At what voltage should you remove it and recharge it?

Your target resistance for your coil was 0.3 ohms. You recheck the resistance the next day and it reads 0.15 ohms. What could have happened, and why? How do you troubleshoot this? Is this still safe to use with your battery?

Now those are the questions that i have no answer to. I know your trying to help me. Then what do you think i should buy ?

Sumi, you've been talking about that IPV, why not get that and be done with it? All the power you want, all the safety you need. Then build some coils. Doesn't matter what kind, but build them, check them and vape them. Then take pics and show us!
so i just go for a ipv one ? but then again i dont like that back panel. seems annoying to open the back panel. 50 watts is what i need.

The above issues can happen with a mechanical mod, but it won't happen in a regulated mod. A regulated mod has a minicomputer in it to watch out for internal shorts in the mod and the atomizer, and will refuse to fire the atomizer to protect you. It will have protection to prevent over-discharge of the battery and warn you when to recharge it. It will have a timed automatic cutoff of the fire button so that you don't accidently over-discharge your battery with a stuck fire switch. It will shut off if it gets too hot. All of this is to prevent a battery from going into thermal runaway and possiby venting or exploding.

A mechanical mod has none of these protection features. Your safety depends entirely on your knowledge and experience, which as a beginner you are understandably lacking. A regulated mod is a far better option for someone in your position than a mechanical mod.

You don't have to do sub-ohm coils in a mech to get a great vape.
