Hello all,

Just bought a Vapor 4 Life Titan kit.

Question 1
Do i have to fully charge the batteries, befor use, To help prolong the overall battery life?

Question 2
Can i leave the batteries on the charger once they are fully charged, or is that bad on the battery?

Question 3
Can i use the Usb charger that V4L sells, on the Titan batteries? I think a slim charger is recommend.

Thanks for the help

Yes you should give your batteries a good charge when you first get them.

Take your batteries off the charger when they are finished, and do not charge them overnight. Most chargers have circuitry in them that should stop charging the battery once it's full, but that can fail. Most stories you hear about batteries exploding, catching fire, etc are bc the charger malfunctioned and continued to charge the battery after it was already full. It's rare, but it can happen

As for the charger, I would guess you could since the Titan is a slim ecig, but i don't use slim ecigs so I'm not totally sure.

Hi and welcome to the ECF.

I like my KR808D batts and juices from V4L (and carry them as backup) but have transitioned to 510/ego stuff to get the longer battery life and cheaper/more available accessories.

1. All battery sellers recommend fully charging batteries before first use. Mainly you don't want to overdeplete the charge (which will affect battery life) by using a partially charged battery and dragging its voltage down too low.

2. It is generally bad to leave a battery on charge after it is fully charged. It increases the chances of overcharging a battery. I've never had a problem with them but I've read a lot of stories of batteries catching fire/blowing up/ending up useless when left on charger too long and getting overcharged. It's best to charge batteries on a fire resistant surface (like a brick). Some use a LiFePo bag to minimize damage if a charger/battery combination misbehaves during charging. I considered these problems to be fairly rare (and restricted to the large batt mods), but I'm hearing reports of increasing incidents with small kits like yours so it's better to be safe than sorry.

3. Yes. The Titans are sealed but really are just a bit bigger than the standard batts (so take longer to charge up) but they are designed to take the same output voltage and current as the standard batts (the same USB charger).

Hope this helps.

I know you aren't supposed to but I charge my slim batteries overnight (on a multiport USB to AC charging adapter with 500mA available at each port). . And I have multiple fat 450mah+ batteries so when one needs charging I start it before dinner and take it off the charger when done. Ditto for mod batteries - off the charger when done. But good quality slim batteries I leave hooked up all night.

re partial charging - I don't know. Rechargeable batteries are good for some number of charges and will usually start to fail sometime between the 150th and 300th charge. I do not know how partial charges count toward their life. Hopefully some battery expert will come along.

if your problem is that you only have 2 batteries, get a 3rd battery. You should have a spare battery and charger for any ecig you depend on.

I would give them a full charge first. Alot of kits say to charge for 8hrs when you first get them, but I don't think its really necessary to do a full 8 hrs, I would at least wait till the light turns green though.

Oh and remember to only use standard resistance attys/cartos on your Titan. Low resistance attys and cartos are only for bigger battery PVs

Just saw your second post - I'd recommend getting more batts, an auto/computer pass-thu, and possibly a portable charging case. OR you could just get the bigger V4L ego's with 808D connector (or any big 510 batt with a 510-808 adapter) so you could get 2-10 times the battery use giving you plenty of time to charge the little batts.

I wouldn't use just any big battery for KR808D-1 cartos unless the big battery is 3.7v. KR808D-1 is 3.7v. Ego is 3.4v.

For a big battery KR808D-1 device I use a 901/808 box mod from Madvapes. I also use a 3.7v Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.com w/ a 510 to 808 adapter.

And note - the V4L passthroughs, at least in the past, have been 5v, significantly hotter than V4L batteries. That's sort of too hot for the 2.5/2.6 ohm cartos typically used on KR808D-1.

I dont know about partial charging, but youd be a lot better off doing it the other way. Instead of letting your batteries drain all the way to their dead and then only partially charging them, you should throw your batteries back on the charger with about 25% left, and then charge them till their full. By doing it that way, youd still technically be doing the same "partial charge", but would be starting with a fully charged battery instead of a battery that would be around 2/3 charged.
Doing that would def be a lot better, and give you a better vape. Your batteries voltage drops as the battery drains, which also causes the quality of the vape to drop as well. So what that means is that your going to get the best vape with a full battery, and then its going to slowly decline. So by letting you batteries die and then only partially charging them to about 2/3, you wont get as nice of a vape compared to the vape youd get with a completely charged battery.

With any ecig battery, the batteries will last longer if you dont let them drain all the way. All Batteries have a certain amount of full charge cycles in their lifetime. Your slim ecig batteries will generally last about 250-300 full charge cycles. If you put them back on the charger when they have about 25% left, your batteries willl end up lasting longer bc youd be using only 3/4 of a charge cycle instead of a full one.
