Hello I've been cigarette free for a month now. I want to upgrade to a vv battery but I'm getting confused reading everything. My current set up is an ego upgrade battery with a protank 2 mini. My main problem is Im hitting it too often or too hard and I getting a burnt taste it goes away but I hope theres something else I can do. I've checked the voltage on mine and my wifes ego upgrade battery and on both the voltage is 3.7 not matter which mode it is in. Im using 2.5 ohm coils, maybe go lower? Any suggestions would be great.

How often do you clean your clearo's? Do you dry burn?

If it's a BCC clearo like a ProTank, a common newbie problem is trying to take perpetual draws on it. I've seen some people try and pull and pull on the thing until an eGo battery starts blinking and shuts itself down. That technique doesn't work well with a BCC. They will go harsh if you do that because you are vaping beyond that small wicks ability to take up more liquid and get it to the coil. Short hard pulls - like on a cigar - are ok, but trying to pull and pull and pull on the thing in one continuous draw will run the wick dry and make it go hot and harsh.

Try going lower like you think, just to try it, but getting the burnt (dry hits), is either the juice is now wicking into the coils very well or the coils are just about done and should replace them. With things like the PT2/PT2m they tend to be a lot more sensitive about the power you are putting on them (personal experience here). When you say the voltage no matter what mode you are in, might be confused here, VV and VW can only set one or the other not both. I would say pop it on VW and try something like 6.5-7.5. Again don't know all the details but really sounds like there is too much power or the coils are ready to be changed.

If your taking a big long hit your probably drying the wick before it can rehydrate and getting the burnt taste. The Protank coils don't wick very fast IMO. I have the same problem with those so I have to take smaller hits you get used to it and learn when to stop after some practice. Honestly if your using the push 3 button three times to select a mode type battery, you will be better off with an Itaste SVD or the like, especially if your planning on vaping for a while yet. The SVD lets you select voltage in 1 volt increments, from 3-6 volts as well as wattage in .5 increments, from 3-12 Watts. It will serve you well for just about all your vaping needs. As for your atomizer you can help the wicking stay wetter by opening the coil up and removing the 2 tiny flavor wicks and install a 1.5 to 2mm dia. size silica wick in that area, it's not the best option but it does work. You can try a lower ohm coil, But I have the same problem with even the lower ohms. maybe it will work for you.
