hi there,
I promissed a while back to do this post, and although I'm only here occasionally (mostly using a local dutch forum), a promiss is a promiss.
A while back (jan 5th) I came back to vaping.. having strayed from the right path for over a year..
So.. time to bring my eRoll out of it's long wintersleep and hang in on a power socket.
Allthough the led's came on, red, blue, green, all at moments it should.. the PCC (Portable Charging Case) was actually doing nothing else then throwing on the lights.. a full night's charge equalled about 10-20 puffs.. that's all she could still handle.
So.. googling around I found the ECF forum, and a post about a year old and this being a 752080 battery.
It didn't however show the results of replacing the battery, so I promissed to do so here.
Photo before I started
Opened.. and the original is a 3.7v 1000mAh battery type 752080.
I used this link on to get a new replacement battery from China for $ 8,08
http://www............com/snapshot/6434785648.html
That link now however points to this one:
http://www............com/item/Lith...Hang-752080-LED-lights-Energy/2049955810.html
And it's probably a new link next week.. if you do a search on 752080 + battery you'll find it on Alie.
PLEASE NOTE!
The original battery is stuck to the PCC with a very sturdy tape!
It will require some force to remove the battery from the case, however do it patiently.. otherwise you'll wreck the case.
Photo of the original + new battery in bottom of photo
Strangely the new alie battery is labeled a 702080 and not a 752080.
I do not know what the difference is, but the size is identical, the power output too, and most important ; it works..
so i'm taking the difference for granted.
If you are wondering if you should/shouldn't do the replacement..
well, anyone who has had simple experience with a soldering iron can do it.
If you have never used a soldering iron.. get your hands on a 15w soldering iron/pen style.. nothing heavier.
Practiss a bit on attaching/detaching elsewhere.. it basicly is one of the most simple soldering tasks so even a novice could do this,
just make sure your iron comes from above on the board, and not too much sideways (or else you'll fry the chips or battery
)
So basicly.. it's detach the red and black wire.. remove old battery, and connect the black and red wire of the new battery.. tadaa
NOTE!
Tape-off the red wire once it's detached from the board.
Even though that wire goes to your "dead" battery, you don't want it making a shortage just incase.
Photo of the PCC with the new battery
Closed up.. and a couple of hours charing later... Ah.. the lovely green light
It seems like my simple battery replacement solved the problem with this unit.
A new PCC costs 25 euro's in the Netherlands.
This battery replacement is less the 8 euro's.
If you have an eRoll that's been put aside for the same reason, you might find this post helpfull
This eRoll is going back to friends/family that are considdering vaping, but still have the need for something sig-a-like.

ps, sorry if this post is in the wrong place
