Battery springs or battery holder?

Hey there ECF
I'm in the works of making my very own parallel dual 650 box mod. I need one last thing and that's either a battery holder or springs for battery contact. It's going to be in a handmade wooden enclosure so i have no problem installing my own springs need be. What have you guys found works best? I've been leaning towards getting springs and installing them but I don't know quite where to get my hands on some. Thanks ECF

Springs will require you to build a small shelf within your wood box to hold the positive battery connections whether those are springs as well or a simple copper positive connection tab. The negative, bottom connections are usually done with springs. The upper connectors are mostly done with a copper tab under the shelf so to speak.

A sled will allow you NOT to build this shelf within your box. Shelves are nice in that you can hide all of your wires, Mosfet, whatever, up in the shelf. It does create more work. You can do a shelf with a sled as well, if you want.

I am working on my first wood box and decided to go with a sled- just to make my first one easier. It will be a much cleaner build for a first mod. It makes the connections easier to deal with as well. Sleds require abit of modification as well in that the tabs are too tight and can rip your batteries skin, etc...

REOMODS sells springs but not cheaply. I think most make them. I have not found Beryllium copper in a gauge small enough to twist into a coil for a mod. If you find some let us know...
