So I bought an Ego-C about two weeks ago and love it but every time I take a cartomizer, atomizer, or tank off the battery there is always a drop of juice sitting on the cold part of the battery where they would connect. I found out that after time the ego tanks are known to leak and i have realized that because they REALLY leak but as for everything else is it normal for there to be a drop of liquid on the battery head every time I take of a cat or atty? Does it ruin the battery? :blink:

Assuming that the e-cig has a button, it is probably a sealed connector. Juice-shorting problems are more frequent with automatic (no button) e-cigs that have a small air hole in the connector to sense the inhale.

Others will have to speak to the eGo-C tank.

Problems can occur with the button getting wet as juice can cause button failure IMO. Also, make sure you wipe the connector well before you charge it. In general, keep a napkin handy!

Best guesses, 2 cents.

As AttyPops stated, other than drying of the fluid in the atty which could build up, if the e-cig is a manual battery it should be sealed. Easy enough to check just by looking at the battery connector - if it is a solid play- OK; if it has a centered hole in it, then the fluid could leak into the battery itself. Not even sure the eGo-c comes in an auto- have never thought of it. Generally when I removed or trade out a cart/o, I take a soft tissue to gently wick out any residual left behind.

I just use a Q-tip and clean that out well. Also clean the threads (both 510 and the outer ego threads) well, they get a juice buildup too. This is more the tank system design than anything else. I also occasionally get this from cartos if I accidentally get juice in the center tube.. it won't hurt the battery, but if it builds up, clean it off with that dry Q-tip so you get a good connection to the batt.

Sealed is a big word here;

The silicone insulator ends with a cap that covers most of the bottom area around the positive pin, that is all.

If you screw things too tight,it will flatten and stretch in 3 to 4 months of light use and that will be the end of it.

Overall,those dont last 300 cycles,they never do :)

Yea I wipe it down everytime I remove the battery from a carto or atty I was just wondering if it was normal for it to always be wet when I take it off. And yes it is a manual battery. Also people say clean it with grain alcohol but can't I just use rubbing alcohol? If not what grain alcohol should I use, everclear?

Thanks everyone for the responses!

I keep a supply of paper towels cut into folded napkin size squares as well as qtips in my kits, and use them to wipe up any leaks & spills when topping off, as well as excess vapor that sometimes accumulates in the drop tip. All part of the fun of vaping :p

Edited to add: I use vodka once or twice a week on the connectors, and also as part of my carto cleaning routine. I did use rubbing alcohol the first time & no problems with either so far! :)

I've had the drop problem infrequently, depending upon the type of carto/atty used.

Usually, it's just caused by the vapor that gets trapped inside and condenses as it cools, then runs down the air draw tube. This can largely be prevented by continuing to lightly draw for a second or two after the power is removed from the coil.

Anything more serious is likely an overfilled carto, flooded atty, or leaky tank.

Have had the wet battery on both eGo and LT, no matter what I was using, tanks, drip, carto, etc. I haven't found a way around it, just started carrying a paper towel and a handful of qtips around in my kit, and clean it once or twice a day. One thing that I noticed, it that it seems after cleaning the small bit of wetness away, my LT feels like it hits twice as well, with an increase of flavor - but that could just be all in my head.

It does happen on the tanks and it's just the nature of the beast. From my limited experience, it seems that a bit of juice leaks from the tank (not tons, just a total of a drop of so). Ego batteries are sealed, so nothing to worry about. Q-tips will become your best friend with an ego! I don't use the tanks anymore and prefer to drip, which at the beginning as I was overdripping like mad, which also causes the same thing only it's messier. :p
