Batteryless flashlight?

Alright I've never made my own mod but have been tempted, and about 5 minutes ago I was thinking about those battery-less flash lights that use wire and magnet to create electricity... How do batteryless flashlights work and can the technology be expanded to other devices? - The Boston Globe was wondering if anyone has thought of this idea or attempted it, or even if anyone was considering attempting it. I'm considering seeing what I can do with this idea but my only thought is it might have to be pretty big in order to work. If this idea does work and it works good that could be the end to our battery problems once and for all.

Just thought I'd run this idea past the modders of this forum and see what you think. Is the e-cig a low enough battery power for this to be worth it?

well some question asking and some looking around they apparently only produce, roughly, 2.5amps, and that's after 30 seconds of shaking it... not sure if this would still work. I'm also not sure if the ampage goes down the smaller the coil system is... seems like it could be a great idea, no chargers, no batteries, great for camping trips or long weekends away from electricity.

Anyone have any input?
