The shaker charge pcc?? strange idea...

got this idea a few days ago but not sure how I'd go about doing it... it apparently works off the same theory as wind powered electric generators the coil passes across an area creating a small amount of current now if I found a way to rig this beast up to a usb cable could I possible create a shaker charger for a pcc? any thoughts?

I think It would be better to set it up to be a PV. You know shake it a few times get a puff or two. You figure that out your total cost of ownership on these goes way down.

To create enough energy to charge a full pcc would probably cause your arm to fall off.

in order for it to be a decent PV it would have to be larger than a chuck though and how many ferrad (sp?) capacitor would have to be lined up between the atomizer and the shaker coil for the product to be practical?

the example is for principle I am thinking a shaker coil roughly 3 times the size that or relay a number of sets of coil on the magnets shaker path instead of a single coil in the middle.

The "shake to charge" flashlights work on the Faraday principle.

I own one of those flashlights... it's not the best for staying lit but that's probably more a function of the capacitor and light light source than the actual power generation.. that would be a fun mod though.

I'd like to mod one of the crank style units (turn the crank to charge, works for 5-10 minutes) and never have to worry about a power source again!

a crank charger... thats a marvelous idea! do you think it could be done from scratch or would one need to cannibalize a crank radio?

Thanks for clarifying the name, been a few years since my engineering course in high school I am suprised I still remember even ohms low not to mention things such as kirkov's law of voltage loss

You'd probably need to scavenge one. I'm sure if your technically minded you can build one but the cost/time invovled might make it easier to buy one of the cheap-o radios or flash lights and tear the guts out of it.
