Li-Ion is a low memory effect battery by nature so charging before it is depleted does not have much of an effect.

So, charge as often as you can because it does not really matter and having a fresh battery is always better.

(Technically it does not die, it just falls below a set voltage and safety circuitry cuts off power to prevent it discharging to a dangerous level.)

It's usually better to not run batteries all the way down but the protection circuits in the Ego should prevent you from doing that (unless the circuits get damaged by using incorrect charger or too low resistance). When a battery is low on charge it's a bit more strain on it to fire up atomizers/cartos especially LR ones. Your batteries should last from somewhere between 150 and 300 recharges.

And it doesn't hurt to have backups. My backups are 3.7v mod boxes.
