It's, uh... bedazzled.
Couple of things I see, springs top and bottom with screwed in caps look to me like massive voltage drop. Also, looks like it's relying on a needle top bottle to feed the atty, looks like an invitation to leak internally.

Your right about Chinese springs being whimpy.
I always replace springs in mechanicals. Copper wire makes great springs.
Folks around here often tend to bad mouth clones and Chinese made mods without having seen one in person.
That basically implies to new vapers that some experienced vapers are biased in their opinions.
New vapers rely on experienced vapers for product information.
