My BB has performed flawlessly for several months now but within the last week the button has become a bit inconsistent. I'm starting to have to really mash on it to get it to fire. Anyone know a fix?

On a good note, it gave me an excuse to order a SB to make sure I have a backup :)

Edit: I should have read down a few a posts as someone else seems to be having the same problem. I'll try the suggestions in that thread.

I apologize for the inconvenience. The switch contact plate may be off a bit. Feel for a bit of resistance on the top or bottom of the switch. When you notice which end it is coming from, firmly tap the switch with your finger or knuckle on the offending end. If you do not feel the resistance, firmly tap the switch on center. This will usually resolve a "funky" switch. The contact plate is shaped similar to an arrow, and if it goes a bit off before the switch is "broken in" it can cause an un-even activation \ similar to this but rotated 90 degree. By broken in I am referring to any imperfections inside the contact cup that could cause a hang up of the contact plate. The switches are the best available on the market IMO, but there is still a chance of a 5 o'clock Friday switch getting in there.

I've read a post very similar to this before. Is the switch in the SB similar internally?

I want to state I have had ZERO issues with my switch in my SB. My SB has always worked flawlessly!

Although I have noticed that the center of the switch is slightly raised on one side. The outer benzel is also slightly raised on the same side as well. The center is about 1.5mm higher, and the benzel is about 1mm higher then the opposing side. The switch's operation is fluid, and travels down in both directions with no resistance.

This has ZERO issues on it's operation, but since we're on topic, I'd thought I'd ask!

I unscrewed it from the battery end and gave it a few raps with my knuckle and it SEEMS to be working fine again. Which is fantastic because now it appears that you can actually fix a BB by abusing it :)

I ordered the Black SB anyway.

@Chad - I agree the buttons on the BBs are awesome. Nothing against Puresmoker because I am big fans of their customer service and still order lots of stuff from them but I owned a Prodigy and a Protege and I say that in past tense because I HATED the mechanical buttons on those things.
