First of all, i am not attacking anyone.
I stated that i had dropped the tube and it hit the table.
From what i recall it was not a loud noise and did not hit the table violently. Maybe 3 feet away.

This reminds me of a watch i had last year, and it fell at the wrong angle and shattered the glass.
The watchmaker told me that although rare the glass can shatter only if the protective glass hits an object at an angle. He said, "other than that you can drop the watch all day long and the glass will not shatter."

I love my prodigy, in fact i have two of them + 2 PT'S.
They are my favorite vaporizer by far.

In fact, i have been unable to use all the other 3.7v sticks since owning a prodigy.
I do not know Steve, but Casey has treated me extremely well.

Other than that, please be aware, that when the bottom cap is off the prodigy, the fine milling is exposed and can suffer damage if the tube is dropped.

That's all ...end of discussion.

i think the point being made by the others is that "gently bumping a table" and now dropping it 3 feet onto a table are entirely different things.

just a third party trying to interpret both sides of the argument.

No, what you said was:
I knocked the bottom of the black tube (battery container) against the table quite softly

I'm not attacking either. I just hate to see a great company and a great product be slammed by someone for no apparent reason other than their own user mistakes, then be wishy-washy about what actually happened.

Next time, fess up that you screwed up.

That's all ...end of discussion.

You know i have to say, this makes sense, its aluminum right? I am almost certain it is. Its a pretty soft metal.

There is a big difference in how fragile a metal tube becomes when it doesn't have the added support of an end cap or something similar.

Example being, cups, take a hollow plastic cylinder, and try to bend it. Now take a plastic cup of about the same make, and try to bend it.

there you go

Gibby.

I don't know about you guys, but before it fell, i had considerable trouble trying to screw in the cap anyway.
I don't know if it's my big clumsy fingers or what else, but with the spring pushing back, I always had trouble aligning the threads without fidgeting.
It was in one of these instances that the cap slipped out of my fingers (being pushed by the spring) and i dropped the whole tube.
Anyway on this prodigy here, that I have damaged i'm simply going to sand the threads a tad inside the tube until i can push the cap in without screwing it in.
So this solves the screwing issue.

You should have been a drummer!! Lol!
No that's not the correct angle.
Tube needs to fall vertically , or very near vertical.
Surface it hit against was granite..this could also have contributed to the denting.
You have a granite table?? OK. Unfortunately I don't have one of those around. Sorry.

But is I can find some granite. Drop my Prodigy from 3 feet as verticasl as possible make sure hits on threads. Then it will bend. Gotcha!

IMHO would be easier just to smack it with a hammer.:)

Jeez, leave the guy alone, he was just posting an experience, its probably pretty common, threads get bent on random ****e all the time. Bottom line is, don't try to screw in your end cap from 3 feet in the air over a hard surface. I sure won't after hearing this, not that i have a granite table, but if i did, i sure as hades wouldn't try to screw the end cap onto my prodigy 3 ft. in the air over it after reading this. This guy isn't a spammer isn't trying to ruin anyones rep. If you drop anything that screws into to anything on a hard surface, theres a chance it could get effed.

Do all the demo's you want, doesn't matter. He dropped an aluminum tube onto a granite table, and the threads got effed. Not that unbelievable if you ask me. It could provide someone a warning enough to be more careful and not mess theres up in the meantime..

Just my take, not sure why we are all jumpy on this board recently, we are on the same team. there are 2 different fights going on on 2 different threads right now. Thats uncommon for us.

K, i am done on my high horse.

I believe our current government situation might indeed be affecting us more than we thought. People get a little edgy when something you care about very dearly is positioned right under the guilotine (can't spell). Now, I'm not comparing the Prodigy to a Harley,....but for instance, owners ..... and moan all the time about problems with the bike they own. Do they mean they want to get rid of it, no, they understand sometimes to have the best requires effort to maintain.

Let's all just take a few deep breaths and remember that when Steve is out of town, I'm the only one here to read everything that's happening ;)

Personally, the only bent tubes I've seen are the ones that come out of the shop that way, therefore never get sent out. That's not to say that what happened is impossible, just never seen it happen personally.

Thanks for everyone's passion and supportive fire, but for now, can we put down our matchbooks? Isn't that why we all started vaping in the first place? -->Insert Small Cheesy Joke Giggle Here<--
