I personally believe that both the discounts and the freebies are free gifts. They are both temporary, and should not be expected hence the word: gifts. They are provided through the generosity of the supplier as an appreciation to all of his customers.
The way you choose to receive your gifts is a personal choice.
Whether you receive a discount and freebies, or receive only freebies. That said, we should be grateful for the generosity and amazing free gifts and the choice between the two. Because, when and if the day comes that we no longer have them available to us, we can all look back at the days that we received them, and had a choice to boot.

Living on a limited retirement income, I certainly appreciate the value of a discount code. It helps getting the supplies I need. So I use them as often as I can or I try to find a good sale to buy my supplies. Getting freebies comes as a pleasant and most welcomed surprise and is very much appreciated. Thank you V4L!

The gift(s) also help because it may be something new to try, something that you normally would not buy because you need your funds for the stuff you are familiar with and can not risk spending money on something you end up not using. So the freebies are a way to try something you like for free and you end up ordering it with your next order.

...it's very late, or is it early... either way I think I must be dreaming...

Dear V4L crew, please don't get the idea from all this that maybe your sales/discount codes aren't all that important to most people (or tend to make them feel bad somehow..!?)... I'd like to take this opportunity to affirm how much they DO mean to many, myself included (also helps offset the 10% sales tax for us Chicagoans), and to sincerely THANK you for them! :nun:

Like others I've been appreciative of freebies (and will subsequently buy many of those things, so we all benefit) and it's added a friendly touch, but I don't expect them, and didn't know if it could always continue. Most importantly, to me it's apples and oranges to weigh freebies against sales -- if it were to be one or the other I'd always have to choose getting the best deal I could on the things I know I need. I also have faith that V4L recognizes and appreciates the loyalty of those who do use the codes as much as anyone else, and doesn't feel taken advantage of...

Again, thank you from the bottom of many hearts V4L!

I was a heavy smoker and was becoming alarmed at the rising cost of my habit, not to mention knowing the damage I was doing to my health.

As I've been only vaping 3 months, I, like many other newbies have spent way more cash than I have to find the best product and suppliers to support this wonderful alternative to smoking. I was broke but not smoking and so happy to find V4L!

As a social worker on a struggling salary I appreciate the discount codes and sales like any other consumer, I have been looking for a supplier to "settle in" with and found it with V4L and it's growing family of satisfied customers!

Any bonus I receive has been a chance to try new product and also gives me the ability to pass it on to others to try along with V4L's business card, pleasing many others as well...this I appreciate very much, and am always grateful...

I think you guys got this all wrong. Let me explain.

On my first order I got myself an ult ult kit. I was very thankfully suprised when there were a few extra batteries and a few extra carts in my package. In turn, I gave them out to friends and family of mine. V4L helped me to quit, and in turn I feel it's only right that I try to give V4L products to others to help them quit. This ended up in 3 people close to me wanting ult ult kits for themselves and their family. This is my christmas present to them. My question was simple, do I save myself some money, or do I split up any other suprises that I may or may not recieve so that my friends and family can also share with theirs.

I, like everybody else, couldn't be happier with V4L products, customer services, and the above and beyond attitude they have when they give us things like suprises or discount codes. This is why I recommend them to my friends who also want to quit. This is why I hand out their buisness cards like bubble gum. This is why I post in other areas of this forum about my fantastic experence with V4L.

You all make me out to be some terrible person that I'm not. It was a valid question. It's a question that is on a lot of peoples mind, if they choose to admit it or not. I'm not trying to start drama, I was simply wanting feedback to help in my personal choice.

I love V4L products at retail price. The fact that we can even have this conversation is just more proof of how great they really are. Again, and as always, thank you V4L!

Hehe, I didn't get the chance to read forums yesterday, but in placing an order last night you'd have thought I'd read this thread at least :p

I agree with those people who are unsure - wanting to be careful about posting about the freebies they do get, as they don't want to give people the idea they're garunteed to get more than what they pay for every time, and undecided on discount codes, etc.

What I believe it all comes down to is:

"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"

Appreciate that we've found a fantastic supplier, do our part to respect that, through continued patronage, and spreading the word, and let V4L worry about their codes and bonuses.

I figure that just be truthful when posting, and honest in your order comments (about any faulty parts that need replacement, etc) and "Pay it forward". You can't go wrong with that.

Also, something nice you can do is for each freebie you get, review it. Honestly, of course, but just post a short review, on the forums, on the site, either way.

I completely agree with Miss MIA. I'm also in Chi and the DC definitely helps offset the 10% sales tax. When I first started out vaping, the V4L discount codes really made the difference in my mind in choosing to order locally and pay tax + shipping vs. order from another state and only pay shipping.

With the freebies, I appreciate each and every carto and refill bottles that gets included in my order!!!

I can honestly say it hasn't crossed my mind. I use the discount code and have always been impressed with the freebies I receive. And thankful too!

Same here...in fact, being a newbie, I had no idea. I've placed big orders since I got my first kit last week and use the discount codes. Whether I get freebies or not, I'll still order from V4L. Just my opinion...

>> It's a question that is on a lot of peoples mind, if they choose to admit it or not.

I was with you right up until there.

Any quantitative data on that? Or if only qualitative - what do you have for raw data? Source please?

I'm most curious, of course, the specific methodology you are using to determine what someone else is thinking [esp]when they don't know what they're thinking [ie. refuse to admit it, because that's not what they're thinking], per your statement... Is our military aware of your gift?

Oh no, the beans have been spilled.

Well, now the V4L TeDfR (Telempathic Division for Research) will need to have the light shone on it. Many have suspected, but now the proof....

(Yes, I know Telempathic isn't a real word, but it sounds good, doesn't it?)

I almost always use the discount codes. I look at the freebies as a nice added bonus, as well as great advertising. My favorite freebies are cartos of flavors I haven't tried yet. This gives me a great opportunity to try a new flavor risk free. Some I like, some I don't, but I'll always order more of a flavor I like. In some cases, it might be a flavor I wouldn't have tried otherwise, so that's good for everyone.

I also live in Illinois, so like miss MiA and impostor71, it's nice to offset the tax.

I do always feel a bit bad when I get a lot of freebies. I'm usually so happy with my order that I feel I'm taking advantage when I get too many freebies, or if I get batteries and the like.

Try to find a middle ground between guilty and entitled, and you'll be fine :p
Remember. V4L knows it doesn't have to give you any bonuses. It gives them because it wants to let you know your value as a customer, because it's important to V4L that you know this, etc, basically Steve boils it down best to one word.

He wants you to "smile".

So smile, and don't over analyze it.

Now see - ^^^ I find that to be right on the money.

Some percentage of earnings goes into advertising, marketing, product development, and customer retention.

Acquiring a customer is far more expensive than retaining one.

So this is a Win-Win at it's most basic. Steve keeps us Smilin, and we get to help him smile too. Everyone wins. That he is so adept at building that culture into his business just shows how much smarter he is than those that don't.

I'm _totally_ on-board with what you wrote, DaSh'.
