I have never tried the 801, but I know from reading that batteries last a bit longer and the carts do hold much more juice. All I have used is the 901, but I do hear, since it is smaller, it seems to give a better throat hit than the 801. The battery life sucks on the 901 and having to top off constantly isn't fun either. Unfortunately, neither are the best of all worlds, and you will have to figure out which things are most important to you.

Neither if you want consistently good throat hit. I had the 901 and it was OK for the first week but still only hit or miss throat hit due to the small batteries. Save youself much frustration and get a good manual switch PV, where you push a small button to heat the atomizer as long as you want. No 5 second battery cut off like with the 901/112 and all auto switch PV's. No gumming up the battery/switch and constantly buying $12-$20 batteries. Many members have switched to the bigger battery PV's like the Screwdriver, GG, Prodigy or Janty Stick because you get consistent throat hit and the batteries last 6-8 hours and cost $2 to replace. The 901/112, etc you will be lucky if you get 3 hours of battery life between charges. A smaller manual PV that many members like is the 510/Dura-C. The batteries only last about 2 maybe 3 hours and cost 7-8 times more than the larger PV batteries, however. But many member do like this unit, regardless. Check out these links:

I have both the 901 and BE112. I prefer the BE112 but after 2 usb pass throughs got killed I've been using the 901. For some reason my 901 likes to take a day off every other day. One day I get great vapor, throat hit, flavor and the next I get nothin'! Doesn't matter which atomizer I use either. It's the weirdest thing.

My husband is making a battery mod for the BE112/801...he really needs to finish that project soon because I'm getting grumpy.

Good post. This goes exactly to my point. It's why so many are moving to the mod type PV's. They actually work well and consistently.

thanks alot for the help guys, i might look into buying a screwdriver or another with a bigger battery the only problem is i've looked around at the prices and its more affordable for me now to stick to a be122 or 901 lol its about 60 bucks for a kit and 6 bucks for a replacement addy and 8 for a battery. i will however save those links for future reference when i'm looking to upgrade

I think you should just try both. A penstyle and a mini give different taste results on liquids and such. I resort to using both atomizers as a result with each having their own purpose. I can't judge batteries because I don't use the original generic kit batteries anymore for neither one so my opinion is strictly on atomizers.

Screwdrivers, Jantysticks, Prodigy etc now all come in different variations/adaptors/compatibility to be able to utilise both types of atomizers which is why it's great to have both the mini and penstyle atties.

You are absolutely right. I ordered my first ecig March 27 and have gone through 4 models already. I thought 160.00 for a very strange looking screwdriver was a bit risky since I had no idea whether I would even like the ecig. If I knew then what I know now...

lol any links as to where to get a good deal on it?

Welcome to the eSmoker Online

The VX2 is also known as the J118. A lot of people have good things to say about it on this forum. I will be picking one up next week.

Somebody said this site ships within 2 days. Good shipping rate. You will prob want to pick up an extra atomizer or 2 and batteries. Happy vaping. Keep us posted with your decision. I say just get all of 'em. =-)

The J118 is just a another version of the DSE901. And the site says not to drip on the atomizer. I'm not sure I understand the advantage of a PV that you can't drip with.

GG: THE GG
JantyStick: Janty USA

I wholeheartedly agree with this recommendation. If you enjoy vapeing and use it to replace at least a pack a day habit you will end up looking among the above recommended models at some point after battery management fatigue has set in.
